The brushable pony toys are fantastic. You can find a good selection at any superstore (Target, Wal-Mart, etc). I suggest Target- it's got more officially licensed Hasbro stuff, with some things that can only be found there. They've also got pony blankets and stuffed toys there.

There's a few different types of pony toys. You've got the blindbags- little, hard plastic figurines that often come in bags where you can't tell what you're getting. Great for a surprise, sort of like a pony lottery.
There are larger hard plastic toys, usually in a set. They're fun and well-made, great for playtime. A lot easier to manage than the brushables... pony hair can get crazy at times.
The ones with brushable hair probably have the most potential, and they're what I would recommend. Even the smaller, one-pony ones (cost about $5 US) come with an accessory or pet, so they provide a little more value than just the toy. There are a bunch of guides online on styling doll hair, with a few pony-specific ones for making the hair accurate to the show. Styling definitely takes adult supervision, but it makes a nice activity for if/when she's old enough to have the attention span.

It sucks that you don't get the show... the new show's fantastic, for kids as well as adult. One of those awesome shows that appeals to every age so parents don't feel themselves losing braincells as they watch, hehe. I believe the show's on Netflix, if you have it or could get it, and Season One has a DVD coming out in December. Might make a good Christmas present.

You definitely came to the right place to ask. People can say what they will about bronies and other adult fans, but when it comes down to it we're just fans of the new show. If you have any other questions, don't hesitate to drop on by and ask! We're a pretty friendly bunch, especially when it involves helping out a fellow pony fan like your daughter.

Poor you. It doesn't matter what it is, but an over-saturation of anything in life will make it horribly annoying. As a parent myself, I understand your pain.

However, the rest of the new series is great, definately one of the best kids' shows out there right now; they've released the full Season 1 and Season 2 DVDs.

I'm sure a few probably remember reading this somewhere else, but this is definitely my most cherished holiday memory. It was the last Christmas my dad and I spent together back in 2013. He had Alzheimer's and Congestive Heart Failure(he had a heartattack in 2009 so I had to step up and take care of him) so mom and I wanted to make it special for him. She and I had gotten him a new robe and some new clothes as a special surprise for him and he didn't even know he was getting anything until Christmas day. It was also the very fist time I had gotten to play Santa for the family, too. That Christmas Eve night when I KNEW he was fast asleep, I quietly tiptoed out of my room(his was right down the hall from mine), and put the large gift bag under the tree.

I know I usually can't sleep on Christmas Eve but I was even more excited than usual to see the happy look on his face that morning. The next day was even more special than I could hope for-he absolutely LOVED his surprise! Especially the robe-he wouldn't take it off for the whole day, and he was even more surprised that he was getting more than one present, and it made things even more special since it was the first time in a while that we had the chance to open our presents together as a family. :3

Sadly he's no longer with us...he ended up dying in his sleep on December 15, 2014 after losing his battle at age 82, but I'll NEVER forget that Christmas as long as I live :'3

When I was taking care of dad, things were pretty stressful for me and during that time between 2010 and 2012 I discovered the show My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic thanks to my friends and fell in love with it almost instantly. I know have a small but growing collection of merch, but I'd love to add this to my collection and it IS under Prime at $16.30: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0096W47NO?colid=VA64ML6T3M0H&coliid=I29R3GXDS6LXLO&ref_=wl_it_dp_o_pd_nS_ttl

Now I know what you're saying-you can watch the show online...I know that, since that how I keep up with it, but there's just something about having a physical copy of something you love that makes it even more special, so I'd love to have the boxset of the episodes that started it all for me and got me through some REALLY hard times :3

Thanks for the contest and for letting us share our memories with everyone. Merry Christmas! :3

Also, I'm sorry I ruined your lives and crammed 11 cookies into the VCR.

I bought season 1 and season 2 straight from amazon.com. Both had the slip covers.

Hope this helps!

If some were not so expensive, I'd recommend a plushie. The more durable ones make for great stuffed toys for children to play with.

As others have said, the DVD would be nice. It is cheap and well worth the price (in my opinion of course :D ) The DVD can be bought from Amazon.

Also, if you like reading to her, I'd get the comics. This is something I did for my nephews and nieces. They enjoyed being read to from books and comics, but the MLP would suit your child more. Hopefully, that is.
The comics are not out yet, but they may be by the time her birthday comes around. You can pre-order them here.

I hope this helps!
