Critic comes from the word criticize. It literally means "to indicate the faults of something". It is entirely negative. That's the point of criticism.

If you'd like to send me your address, I will express ship you a brand new dictionary for your coffee table free of charge. I enjoy arguing with people who have a basic comprehension of the English language, so I see it as an investment. Maybe you'll come back on here tomorrow and actually capitalize and punctuate sentences correctly.

Four comments up:

>Should we end the wars? Yes.

Two up:

>wars (which, incidentally, I oppose)

Further back in my comment history:

>Governance decisions are seldom simple or fun, which is why we as a fledgling society decided on appointing others to do it for us.

(Incidentally, I generally go out of my way to avoid talking about war on here. Most veterans like to avoid talking about war, especially the ones such as myself who are disgusted by it.)
