It's a shame that season 2 is such a distant dream. I wish Japan's business model wasn't tied so hard to blu-ray sales.

Yeah. That's like half of the girl anime characters though.

Those anime shouldn't have what you dread. Maybe FLCL in some places, but it uses it for comedy. I also forgot to recommend Death Note.

Also if you want to try slice of life anime (sexy stuff are nil here): Azumanga Daioh, Nichijou - My Ordinary Life, and Toradora (mostly romance).

Edit: Nichijou - My Ordinary Life is coming on Blu-ray in a few days. $50 with Amazon Prime. There may be complaints about there being no dub. But with this kind of anime, it would be seriously hard to dub.

As for region 4, it looks like they only have the DVD version.
