For the pen, might I suggest an Inka or Telepen? Right now my keyring contains more tools than keys and is very handy for that purpose.
My pocket space solutions are this pen and this wallet (which currently comfortably houses 6 cards and cash - could probably take more)

[I interwove the electrical tape through a generic (plastic coated) paperclip so that it acts as a keychain. Haven’t lost one yet.]. I used the duct tape recently when a poster fell down at my kids’ Christmas recital and I was able to peel a few pieces off for the teacher to put it back up.
