This should work perfect, tiny bit over budget but completely worth it and you can't really get much smaller than this without paying big money on the case. I own this case and it's fantastic - picture of it here for size (yes I know the floor needs a sweep lol!): https://i.imgur.com/fU3eb49.jpg

  • 1600 and 1080TI is going to do great for 4K, with 16GB of RAM at high frequency which is good for Ryzen, full modular (v. important for this game) and gold PSU that's small enough to give a bit of space. The fact the 1080 TI is a mini version will be a big benefit for space.

  • I have this exact case (with an i5 6600K and GTX 970) and it's fantastic, and tiny - if I'm right it's the smallest case you can build a proper gaming PC in with apart from the really expensive custom made stuff like DANCase and MCase. Exact same dimensions as an A4 sheet of paper and at 7" tall (7.5" with the little rubber stub legs) it's about as tall as a can of beer or large smartphone; it's basically a shoe box but less deep and an inch or so taller. It only has room for one 3.5" HDD (or 2.5" HDD/SSDs) so be warned there, but also has a dedicated slot for an SSD tucked into the corner and I believe the motherboard has an m.2 slot for another one. My GPU is full sized but I did a budget version as a gift with a 1050 TI mini and the difference having a small GPU in there is great for space and cabling, but also for mitigating any heat issues and for if you ever need to take it out (a full sized one requires taking half the parts out before you can slide it out the front; a mini one you can just pop out of the slot and it will fit out the top immediately without need to remove anything else..

  • One issue I noticed recently though was in CPU demanding games like Total War: Warhammer or Civ VI that inside the case was getting way, way too hot - but switching to the mesh version of the front of the case and adding the case fans completely got rid of that... I left a RealTemp on and played TW:W for a good 3 hours and the hottest any one core got to at any point was 62c. The reason for this is that stagnant, warm air was building and building and building up near the front of the case with nowhere to go. Due to all the mesh on the back and sides though, the fan (acting as an intake) meant that any warm air now immediately gets pushed out all over the back and sides and has zero chance to build up or hide anywhere with cool air also constantly blasting the RAM, motherboard and back end of the GPU (which is great because 1080 TIs are supposed to be pretty hot). I also have this second case fan rigged onto the side mesh by the CPU using zip-ties, it's really thin which is important for this specific fan because space is extremely tight in the case, that said I bought both together than think the one at the front would have been fine - https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B009NQM7V2/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1

  • The case is only sold with the solid front or the mesh front - I was just lucky that I could switch over the case with the budget one I did as a gift (it's a G4560/1050 TI so heat won't be an issue there). So I would say make sure to get the mesh one which looks a lot better in person or on video than in pictures - quick vid with it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8ptbpKpObzs

  • Ignore PCPP saying the wraith stock cooler won't fit, I have a Noctua one that's about 30mm shorter and have a good 40-50mm of space above it due to the smaller 'SFX' rather than 'ATX' PSU (which also frees up space for the second case fan) on the side. See picture 12 here for the stock cooler in the case - https://pcpartpicker.com/b/jXfH99

  • You'll be able to fit the full case, mouse, all wires, gamepads and a mini keyboard in a backpack with ease. Mine doubles as a HTPC that along with the projector basically replaced my TV and apart from Civ/X-Com/TW type games (which this keyboard works excellently for) I always use a gamepad. If that's how you might be using it then this is a great little wireless keyboard for it at a really low cost - https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B0173QNVT0/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

  • Because there's no windows you don't need to worry about cable management etc much, just buy a bag of zip ties for a fiver and bundle them all together as tight as possible (the mini GPU is going to make this so much easier).

EDIT: I have the wrong PSU there (a full ATX one), this is the SFX one I have, only about £2 more - https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/product/vrH48d/silverstone-power-supply-sstsx500lg . A full ATX will fit in there but I'd recommend going SFX because it is situated near a lot of the mesh gives more room for the air being pushed by the CPU fan and case fan(s) to escape out the top and sides.

Built an SG13/2700X/2080 back in March and I absolutely love it. Here are a few suggestions from my experience:

If you're doing anything that taxes the CPU, that L9i will get pretty loud. I used it for a few days on an 8086k with the Boost disabled (4Ghz max)/undervolted and it handled it OK, but loud. I think my temps were in the mid 70s or so, but the fan was full blast. You could also try a fan shroud which has proven helpful for people in lowering temps. If you don't have access to a 3d printer, Jim will print one for you based on your case/ram/heastink/etc.

I tried the LP53 and that did a much better job with the noise/temp ratio. Similar temps, but I was able to tone down the fan quite a bit. Honestly, I probably would have been happy with that if I didn't already have an Asetek 545lc to try. I'm using that now and I like it a lot more.

I have to echo what everyone else is saying, I would drop down to the 8400 if you don't want to delid and I think you'll be fine with the L9i. If you want to save some money there, I'll sell you my L9i. I currently have the higher rpm fan on my Asetek 545 and the retail one with l9i, but I'm not sure I need the higher rpm so I could switch them out. May even sell the 53, but I did just get in my adapter/fan shroud in so I may test that out first.

I actually bought a large fan bracket and a couple low profile Noctua fans to replace the stock ones.

I'm hoping this will help the issue.

For the time being until the parts show up I pulled the card out of my computer.

I used 3 three of these. They come with enough splitters to run them all back to single header.

If you scroll all the way to the bottom here it says it is mATX.

EDIT: Thanks for putting something about the noise, thats the main thing I want a new cooler for, the stock is way too loud. If I get this fan I will definitely get the Noctua fan also

So this and this? I'll take a look at some reviews online.

I second this. I run a H75 for cpu and H55 for my hybrid 1080 and both are panel-side and intaking. I did have to flip the H55 rad upside down since my SF600 RIBBON cabling is bulky so they interfered with the radiator hose inlet/outlets.

I use this for the rear, plenty of room and it moves a noticeable amount of air.

Overall, the system is quiet and cool cool cool.

Edit: I also use a normal Noctua 120mm on the bottom which intakes on the Kraken G10 fan just to kinda inject fresh air.

u/Blue_Yoshi2015 · 1 pointr/sffpc

Yeah they do make an adapter, but why fiddle with it when you can get a native cooler? Also, these fans will fit under the PSU and motherboard.

I’d also look at your RAM too. The performance boost of 3200 vs 3000 isn’t really worth it with a Ryzen 5. You might be better served using lower latency 3000 RAM, but that’s for you to decide. You could save a few dollars by going with 3000 (same latency) over the 3200 you picked.

What’s your use case? Are you gaming, streaming, etc.? What resolutions, framerates, etc. are you looking for?

u/xCentrino · 1 pointr/buildapc

You could try low profile fan, something like this

u/IceQuake_ · 1 pointr/sffpc

I think that might be a little too big to work, unfortunately.

For a CPU fan/heatsink combo I used this:

Noctua NH-L9a AM4, 37mm Premium Low-profile CPU Cooler for AMD AM4 (Brown) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B075SG1T3X/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_oOnoDbHVM09XY

For bottom exhaust fans I used two of these:

Noctua NF-A9x14 PWM, Premium Quiet Fan, 4-Pin (92x14mm, Brown) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B009NQM7V2/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_nMnoDbCGWJ8BW

Note my system is made of AMD components.
