Teenage Engineering OP-1 is the little white thing in front of Lauren. Moog Minitaur is the black boxy thing by Iain. There is another Alto midi keybaord controller that he is using but you could do the same thing with this. Dave Smith Instruments Tempest is also in front of Iain but it's covered by papers for this song. Martin is playing a Dave Smith Instruments Mopho X4. They run Ableton Live for all of their shows as well, which Iain controls from the computer.

for keyboard, get something with knobs and buttons. the one you linked to will fall short for midi control of the DAW. You will quickly wish you had knobs/buttons to trigger and will end up buying something extra for that control as knobs/triggers are way easier than mouse clicks...

Akai makes a pretty sweet one though only 25 keys.

So does Novation

If you really want more keys, this M-audio one is nice

The XDJ-R1 is sexy!
I find Hercules to be the best entry-level controllers; great price, does what you need it to, but isn't as responsive as the Mixtrack Pro tier stuff. The CMD is a competitor of Mixtrack Pro II and what makes me choose the CMD is the aesthetics and it's a more weighted build. The VMS2 is better quality and better response with an advanced soundcard. Since it has a built in browser and effects and since I use active speakers, I wouldn't need a preamp/mixer. Basically, I don't like what I'm using because it's not a small setup and I'd really love to unlock more control through usb, but at the same time I want all the information in front of me instead of on a computer screen. The M6 is just perfect for any hybrid setup/recording.

Personally, I'd assume have a launchkey mini over pads on a mixer since it'd make producing much easier.

If it makes you feel better, you can get one that looks like this.

Plus, it appears to be under a hundred bucks (with Prime)

Hey, thanks for replying, I made a mistake in my post (edited now) - I meant this version:

That's the mini one. Would you still say the same though?

Also, I've heard that Logic has an extremely good set of plug ins and has something that changes the sound depending on the space which you can change at will. This is probably me falling for the Apple marketing, but it sounds good so do you know if any other products have a similar offering?
