I wish I had a good answer. I struggle with a version of this myself. I am fine all day but use eye drops at night and any time I wake up in the middle of the night.

My doctor says mine is dry eyes from digital eye strain. He says he can see the dry cracks on my eyes.

Sigh.

Do you think it’s the lack of sleep or are those other hours spent staring at a lot of blue light?

Here’s what I’m doing:

Phone on warm all the time. F.lux in my computer.

Bulletproof Eye Armour.

Microwavable Eye Mask for Moist Heat

Eye Drops with oil in them

Eye Ointment

I use this at night.

And Gunnar blue blocking lenses.

Sigh. It all helps a little and nothing has made it all go away.

My eye doctor recommends the miBo eye treatment and I’m seriously contemplating it. I live in a small town and it’s a hour each way so I haven’t quite gotten around to it buts it’s been bad enough lately I’m about to get my buns in gear. Each treatment is $150 or 200 but he does a package that is normally $600 for $450 for upfront payment. I can’t recall if it’s 3 or 4 treatments. Not covered by insurance.

Hope some of this helps. Good luck.

Have you tried Retaine Eye drops? My dry eyes stem from my eyelid oil glands not producing enough oil. Retaine essentially supplies my eyes with that oil and dry eyes during the day has gotten dramatically better. They're a little expensive, but worth it for day time relief.
