The scales will give you an estimate. They also have handheld versions that do the same thing. I find that they're reasonably consistent, if not accurate, so they can be useful for tracking progress over time, as long as your level of hydration stays more or less consistent and you do it at the same time of day.

The BodPod (link to location finder) is probably your best bet considering accuracy, money, and hassle. There's also hydrostatic weighing, which I think is harder to find, and seems like more of a hassle to me.

Dinner could honestly be better. I need to eat A LOT of protein, but for the most part my goal is just generic caloric restriction. Usually a chicken breast and some veggies, or a heavy meat lasagna, sausages, stuff like that.

As for my exercising, I wake up at 5:40am, lift weights for ~ an hour, then as I said don't eat breakfast (working out fasted is ideal), at lunch time I often take a VERY light jog of about a mile and a half. I find this actually helps me not be hungry for a little while.

I do this 5 days a week (Mon - Fri), and am a little more relaxed on the weekend, generally not eating until just noon and dinner time.

The first week is VERY hard, and I might suggest just starting with skipping breakfast until you are comfortable with that. Going cold turkey and skipping both is a dramatic change. I find I have VERY little patience, especially in the afternoon, and am easily agitated. The hunger is never unbearable, but it certainly doesn't feel great. Drink lots of water.

So far I started at (I'm 5'11") 190lbs, and am down to ~182lbs this week (so far 2 weeks of this diet), and according to a Body Fat Analyzer I'm roughly 11.5% bf as of this morning (I take it with a grain of salt, although when used correctly, they are apparently more accurate than calipers or the scales).

Should I rely more on the machine they have at la fitness? I believe they have this

I mostly have weight around my stomach and thighs so hopefully I'll loose the fat there ?

Are my current macros and workout regime good enough for me to get that flat stomach and wider upper body? Or should I eat more (and more Protein?)?

Thanks!
