I'm not terribly well read on it, but here you go. That and following the book suggestions should lead interesting places.

In contemporary times, John Morreall seems to be really into it.

Alternatively, there are areas that you can search for this stuff. That might be worth a look. On a whole, some philosophers have been taking a more 'affective' bent recently that makes laughter a pretty central theme in sociality.

"On Humour is a fascinating and beautifully written book on what philosophy can tell us about humor and about what it is to be human. Simon Critchley probes some of the most perennial features of humor, such as our tendency to laugh at animals and our bodies, why we mock death with comedy and why we think it's funny when people start to act like machines." By Simon Critchley.
