But in some greater seriousness - I think we're only just getting to the 80s as a decade for stories to be told about, which can only really come with distance. That said, there is some stuff out there.

Note that H&CF isn't the story of Jobs & Wozniak, though the parallels are there. The first stop would be this article about the Compaq guys which is almost exactly what is taking place in H&CF. Here is the book written by one of the guys behind Compaq referenced in the article.

In terms of movies, Triumph of the Nerds is a documentary from the 90s about this period, and Pirates of Silicon Valley is the dramatisation of the same period.

Hacking: Kevin Mitnick's story might be of interest - see the wikipedia page for references.

And for an even more thorough account, an awesome book called Open: How Compaq Ended IBM's PC Domination and Helped Invent Modern Computing written by the Co-founder/CEO of Compaq.

I don't think a lot of people realize how much of a role Compaq played in standardizing hardware by being so hellbent on backwards compatibility as a major strategy.
