Oreck Commercial XL2100RHS.

We had a side janitorial business and used this vacuum for weekly work and at home for 15 years. I'm on my second one of this same model for 3 years now.

I've have an Oreck XL Classic for years and it sucks in a good way. You can get the Commercial version (Even better) on amazon for $168.96 USD

Upsides

  • Cheap

  • Last forever
  • Great suction even after years
  • weight is only 8 pounds
  • long cord

    Downsides

  • No hose
  • Still have to use bags

11/10 hands down the best vacuum ever. Out lived everything in the price range and it's never had to be fixed once.

Thanks. Used to be a store in my town but unfortunately the closest one is about an hour and a half away now. I did some googling and I see what you're talking about, but I'm like 99.999% sure this model never had them. This vacuum is 15 years old. I found the base plate for this one and you can see they don't have the bars: https://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.picclickimg.com%2Fd%2Fl400%2Fpict%2F173964900920_%2FOreck-XL-Base-Bottom-Plate-Parts-for-Oreck.jpg&imgrefurl=https%3A%2F%2Fpicclick.com%2FOreck-XL-Part-Bottom-Cover-Roller-Brush-142895625759.html&docid=wtMVw33Yq0oAgM&tbnid=vHw2ldYLB0laqM%3A&vet=10ahUKEwjbm8m03-rkAhVQnJ4KHfI9DkEQMwijAigBMAE..i&w=400&h=267&itg=1&bih=766&biw=1440&q=XL260HH%20oreck&ved=0ahUKEwjbm8m03-rkAhVQnJ4KHfI9DkEQMwijAigBMAE&iact=mrc&uact=8

Anyway, thanks again. Sorry if I came off like I'm questioning your expertise. I was mainly just curious for curiosity sake. I'm sure the roller needs changed. I may actually just buy a new one rather than try to perform maintenance on this one. Looks like Amazon has this one for $150: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B001NDNV18/ref=cm_sw_r_tw_dp_U_x_J0RIDbHJZHDD1 Would you recommend that one? I figure if it lives half as long as my current one, that'll be great!

The absolute best price to performance ratio would be an Oreck commercial bagged upright. You can get them on Amazon for sub $200.

If you want to splurge a little then look at used Miele or SEBO uprights, they're the industry standard for canisters as well. Just know you will probably have to pay closer to $400.

Good luck!
