If you are interested in history like this read:
Overthrow by Stephen Kinzer

It covers everywhere we've done similar actions..Hawaii, Cuba, Nicarague, Philippines, Puerto Rico, Honduras, Guatemala, Iran, Viet-Nam, Chile, Lebanon, Grenada, Panama, Afghanistan, Iraq.
Very good read, every chapter is like a story (but true). I recommend it.
Foucault's Pendulum by Umberto Eco
Means of Ascent by Robert A. Caro
Overthrow by Stephen Kinzer
A Peace to End All Peace by David Fromkin
Guests of the Ayatollah by Mark Bowden
And I'm seriously considering buying the new Cleopatra biography.
At least partly yes.

I enjoyed "Overthrow" by Kinzer, it is more journalism than academic, but is a very quick read and covers a lot of ground quite well. Basically he tries to detail every democratically elected gov't that the US overthrew starting in Hawaii in 1893 to Iraq in 2003.

Overthrow could be it unless you were looking for fiction.
Had an teacher tell me that our Government(United States), always recognizes the established government, and doesn't interfere with other governments, more specifically, we have never been involved with a rebel uprising. This was supposed to make the United States look noble and lawful. He even used the uprising in Hungary as an example of the United States refusing to intervene with the established government. I'd like to beat him with this book if he were still alive.
I find myself bringing up Overthrow quite a bit. It is full of fascinating history and relevant to our times.
I have read the rebuttal after I finished reading the book. If you read it, you will find that the rebuttal is just some vague bullshit that debates minor points and that it does not really disprove the main point of the author, which is disaster economics.
The book I linked does go over the top, but the gist of it is true. Read Stephen Kinzer's overthrow and All the shah's men and you can verify most of the stuff from the Naomi Klein's book.
This book "Overthrow" by Stephen Kinzer is probably the best introduction to US overthrows worldwide. Once you see that Venezuela is just the flavor of the month for US regime-changers, it all starts to make sense. https://www.amazon.com/Overthrow-Americas-Century-Regime-Change-dp-0805078614/dp/0805078614
