Better than that, is these. I'm currently using the second one every day, and the silicone lid is a miracle for trays that makes the long slim "ice cubes" for water bottle usage. Normally you have to be incredibly careful with those trays because the long slender slots slosh water everywhere, but the sealing lid works so well.

they have a silicone flap on top that sticks to the plastic tray so you can put them in the freezer at an angle and they dont leak. also the bottoms are curved so its hella easy to get the ice out. and theyre a pleasing blue color! 11/10 would buy again

I bought one when I had a one freezer for four people who all bought our own food so that I didn't have to lay it flat. You can set it at up to something like a 45 degree angle (I've put it at a 90 degree angle and had great success) and it won't spill. One of the most simple yet useful kitchen additions I've purchased. And it's just an ice cube tray...

Hard plastic with sealing silicon lids so they don't leak or spill even if you don't set them flat, and you can STACK them.

I really like this one:

OXO Good Grips No-Spill Ice Cube Tray with Silicone Lid - $12.95 USD

However, I don't consider it BIL because silicone seems to absorb fridge smells over time. I haven't noticed it affecting the flavor of the ice yet though so maybe it is not a problem. I do really like having that silicone lid as it prevents a lot of off flavors I taste in most refrigerator ice (from either open trays or ice dispensers).

If you don't notice off flavors, some of the open top ice trays made out of metal are most likely BIL but I have no experience with them.

This is the best ice cube tray there is, i did a stupid amount of research and testing to find this, stupid because well.. its just an ice cube tray. It works better than they describe it, you fill it with water, swipe your hand accross to get out the excess and the lid is sealed, very well. you can put it in your freezer sideways, carry it upsidedown, whatever. afterwards, the ice is super easy to get out, you twist it once, and then since they are a half moon shape, you press one side of the ones you want out and they slide out. The other reviewer maybe forgot to crack them first. plastic is high quality, my freezer is set much colder than average to keep booze cold, and the plastic stays flexible and not brittle.

I don't write reviews, but just buy this freakin thing already (and some of the freds silicone ice cube molds, they rock)"

I use these and I love them.

You can put them in the freezer in any position.

When I have freezer room often make smoothie cubes for DIY smoothie packs https://gourmetscientist.blogspot.com/search/label/Smoothie

If you want to freeze juice, get a sealing ice cube tray to avoid sticky spills like this https://smile.amazon.com/OXO-Grips-No-Spill-Silicone-White/dp/B007U256D2/

With the DIY smoothie packs, the yogurt mixture is pretty thick so regular silicone that give 1 oz. cubes like in my smoothie pack directions are fine.

I have a separate one for coffee because I don’t want the coffee to flavor everything else I freeze.

these oxo ice cube trays are fantastic and really are no-spill. The cover also keeps the ice protected in the freezer.
