PDP makes one that has a mic button, with an led for mute/unmute, bonding the mic button and dpad up/down adjust volume and left/right chat volume.

I usually keep my thumb rested on B and that's it.

Really though that PDP controller is a worthy investment. I got mine for like $30.

it comes with it's own app that allows you to switch buttons around so for example you could tell it to switch LB to do what B does. And B to do what LB does. Then you'd be able to run with LB and block with B.
the app allows you to control your audio really well if you use headphones, diagnostics on the controller, updates etc.
the controllers dpad has an extra function. If you hold this tiny button by the right joystick you can control headphone volume in game by using up or down in the dpad. Also left and right control how loud other peoples voices are compared to the game audio (for online play)
and the best part, it has two extra bumper buttons on the back of the controller that you can set to whatever you want (besides triggers for some reason) and the buttons are also removable if they bother you for whatever reason.

I bought this one and it is really nice. Camo pattern is nowhere near as obvious as the photos and it gives a nice textured feel. The micro usb cable is removable as well. Plug and play for my PC and Nvidia Shield.
