You can use a litter box like this one (example here) - it's transparent so you can still monitor poops, but less spreading.

Invest into a good vacuum:

  1. Shop vac is on the cheaper side - it's great, fantastic sucking, sucks up all the hay and never gets clogged
  2. Miele is on the expensive side - but great with hair and good for people with allergies

I have a bloodhound nose and run a daycare, so I'm an absolute FREAK about my house smelling. I can go about a week in between changes with NO detectable odor (unless you stick your nose in the box!). My bun is a wicked digger so this also helps contain the mess. I buy 2 20lb bags of the bedding once a month from Chewy.
