This is the one that I use. It has a hinge so it stays open and pushes closed easily, which is great, especially when training on walks. It has an adjustable belt that clips (buuuuut I left it in reach of my dog one time and she ate treats out and chewed the clip...so I have to tie mine now, so sad).

Does it still look like a fanny pack? Yeah. But for me I'm at the point where it's a choice between 1) looking stylish and having a leash aggressive dog or 2) looking like a dork with a fanny pack and training my dog to stop flipping the hell out. So dork it is! :p

Seconding the Kong idea. This is my list, based on the Digital Dog Training Book linked to in the sidebar:

Puppy Immediate Needs

puppy Kongs probably want 3–4 of these and maybe in different sizes
metal crate (adjustable, buy for size of fully-grown dog)
travel crate (not adjustable, buy for size of dog currently, if needed)
fur remover x2—one for me and one for my partner
dog appeasing pheromone plugin We use a similar one for our cats and will definitely be using it when the puppy arrives to appease the cats and also this one to make the transition from mommy's home to our home easier for the pup
freeze-dried liver treats these tend to be "high value" treats for all dogs, so are a good place to start, but YMMV
