Basically everything that midsummernightstoker said is spot on. If you're interested in cutting down on your meat intake, the best thing I've found is to find some really solid (and tasty) recipes. The Plant Based Cookbook is super helpful because it provides you with a guide to ween yourself off meat. But also there are a lot of great recipe blogs out there, like Cookie and Kate. Eating vegetarian is a lot easier and tastier than you might think.
