What LowRollinGroove said is spot on, I can't think of anything else off the top of my head you'd need to get up and running, save some thing to be able to output your Xbox audio to headphones. I use this with my own headphones. It's nice because it outputs over the Xbox's optical audio port so it doesn't interfere with my audio over hdmi, no wire switching if I want to play out loud
I stumbled upon this Polk Xbox360 headset, formerly $199, now $32. Wondered if it's any good?

I just ordered mine the other day, and it seems to work alright so far, for 16 bucks.

The melee is currently $34 in blue, if color doesn't matter to you. (other colors are more expensive, for whatever reason.)
The Z11's are open backed, while the Polk headphones are closed backed, if that is important to you.
