I assume by your use of the term "nappy" you are from somewhere outside the US. Would you mind sharing where you can source scented nappy/diaper bags for cheaper?

This hypothesis doesn't quite hold true here in the US. Doggie bags are cheaper here; to the extreme that when my daughter was still in diapers, we kept one of the doggie bag clips with a roll on the diaper bag.

For just a quick example...

Munchkin Arm & Hammer Diaper Bag costs $7.79 US for 72 (0.108 each).

Earth Rated® Lavender-Scented Dog Waste Bags with Handles costs $6.99 US for 120 (0.058 each).

Or if you're okay with unscented, 220 for $7.99, or 0.036 each, or 700 for $14.99, or 0.021 each.

You used ~2 bags a day last year? Why?

Dog waste bags are only about $0.02/piece. Not a big deal.

If this is hurting you this much, you can bring your bags of whatever design you like to the grocery store, and you can use the inexpensive bags for your dog waste.

Thanks for picking that shit up btw. Seriously, kudos.

This bag ban was necessary as people waste them like crazy.

You can buy several hundred small bags at Amazon for like... $15.

Except there's already more convenient options for handling dog waste, as well as biodegradable options, which free plastic bags from the store never were.

I need three bags a day for my beast. I don't shop in grocery stores, I order all my food through amazon or community supported agriculture programs. I go to the grocery store about once a month for meds. Which don't even come in plastic bags.

I need about ninety bags a month for dog shit, and thirty larger bags a month for cat shit. Even if I grocery shopped, that's 120 bags a month! I buy it all in bulk on Amazon. I don't see how else I could support my household poop problem.

Here is a link to the poop bags I buy on amazon https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00AOAT0H0/

Not exactly weird, but potentially embarrassing, poop bags!!!. I know it's necessary, but it is impossible to look cool while carrying a bag of poop around. Can't be done.

When I was in college, we we pulled a decent April fools prank on my roommate. We were about a month from graduation, and one of my roommates had taken a couple of summer courses at another college that he needed to graduate. Earlier in the day, I had been in the Dean's office, and I stole some letterhead. We typed up a letter from the Dean telling him that his credits from that summer had not successfully transferred and, as such, he would not be graduating in May. We had a friend who worked in the mail room and he put the letter in his mailbox. He came ripping into our suite red in the face, screaming at the top of his lungs about how this was bullshit and he was going to sue the University, and how his parents had donated thousands of dollars to the school and no way could they stop him from graduating. The best part; The contact number we put on the letter was to our female friend's room, and she pretended she was the secretary and totally played along with it. We had to physically restrain him from marching out the door to the dean's office to yell at him. He was PISSED when we told him what we did...but he eventually got over it.

An embarrassing fact about me. I was once ticketed for public urination by a New York City cop on horseback. It was the most terrifying thing that has ever happened to me. If I hadn't just pissed on a dumpster, I definitely would have wet my pants.

Thanks for the contest!

twice a day for a year, no holes, and a dispenser that hangs from the leash.

I'm not a fan of the ban, but I'll just buy two dozen reuseable bags, 3 or for insulated ones, and adjust.

I do notice a lot of plastic bags as trash on my commute.

I'd recommend an exercise pen. It's helpful for house training/crate training. Here's the setup we had for our puppy (the wood chips were her potty spot instead of pee pads), and at about 12 weeks we were able to remove the potty spot entirely.

Also:

  • more things to chew on than you think are necessary, ideally with different textures (my puppy likes bully strips, pigs ears, ham bones, and beef knuckles)
  • brush/nail clippers/ear cleaner (depending on the breed)
  • enzymatic cleaner for acidents
  • poop bags (this one comes with the poop bag dispenser too)

I just use Amazon.

Check it - 700 bags for $15 - Prime Eligible, too!

They're great quality and assuming your dog goes #2 2-3x/day, one box will last you roughly 6-9 months.

Way more economical and smaller, so less plastic waste. There's some things that plastic is necessary for. Groceries are not one of those things.

<4 cents per bag also better for the environment than plastic sandwhich bag

dont give a fuck about the environment? 2 cents per bag
