The designs are a little limited, but it's a thing and they cost around $45-50.

The thing that has me not buying them is the lack of HD rumble, though.

There are some Powera pro controller with Button remapping they just don't have all Features but at least they have the motion controls

I also would recommend just the normal PowerA controller over the GCN one unless you really want it for Smash. The GCN button layout isn’t the best for most other Switch games and the nub-like design of the right joystick is not as good for games that use it a lot.

I have that adapter and it works great. As far as motion control it is important (though mostly optional) for some games - Breath of the Wild, Splatoon 2, and Doom for example. Switch controllers don't play nice with Android afaik.

anyone who has this controller, or some version of it, how does it perform with smash? Does it last well?

For casual 4-player gaming (Mario Kart, Mario party) without spending too much, what controllers would you add to the joycons out of the box:

I don’t remember how much it cost, I think it was $50 or $60, but I have the Breath of the Wild pro controller and I love it. Haven’t removed my joycons from the system in months. It runs on batteries though

If you’re fine with it being battery powered I highly recommend it, if not go with something else. Batteries usually last a long time though for me, probably twice as long as they do in my Xbox One controller

Thanks for the help! Actually, PowerA Pro controller for the Switch here in Canada are 33$ for the wired one and around 65$ for the wireless one. I don't mind a wire, I'm used to them actually and I will probably use this controller only for streaming. Here's the links:
