My husband and I usually only have sex a couple times a month (when not TTC), so I definitely understand. Fortunately, we've both been super on board, but last month he was too "tired" (er, hungover) to try the day after my ovulation stick was a BFP, and, of course, it didn't work, so, I totally get that the lack of motivation to have sex can be frustrating.

Anyway, I'm terrible with the psychology stuff, but I do have a few practical/logistics ideas that might help...

Temping is a LOT of effort. Don't pressure her into doing that if she's not really into it. Almost as good is the pee sticks: https://www.amazon.com/ClinicalGuard®-Ovulation-Test-Strips-Individually-Sealed/dp/B009G497KK
The only problem is that you can actually ovulate 24-48 hours after a positive LH, but you don't know exactly when. Also, the results can be a little trickier to interpret in the first month (is that a dark positive line, or only a kind of dark negative line?), but as long as you're having sex within that window, and slightly before, you're fine. Save the ovulation sticks from the month before as a reference guide. People's pee and LH levels are different, and you really have to interpret the shade of the line based on experience here. Of course, that can be true with temping as well.

Something that sounds absolutely bonkers at first, but might actually be right for you, is ejaculating into a soft cup and having her insert it: https://www.amazon.com/Instead-Softcups-Feminine-Protection-Count/dp/B000X29GY6 No actual sex involved, most of the pressure is on you, and the odds of conception might actually be higher than doing it in the old fashioned way ;) They're a little on the expensive side (I mean... just over a dollar... not that expensive compared to a baby!) but (and I'm not supposed to say this, but...) they are reusable if you clean them well!

Also, it's obvious that lube can make a world of difference when a lady's not particularly in the mood. Make sure you're using a sperm safe lubricant, like Pre-Seed https://www.amazon.com/Pre-Seed-Personal-Lubricant-1-4-Oz/dp/B004382GWK

I know, I sound like a shill for Amazon right now, but I buy all my stuff from them :)

Good luck!

Oh I guess you are right haha. There were just two different boxes pre-seed and pre-seed

Going to give pre-seed a go this cycle (cycle 4, haven't been on desktop to change flair). However, I got it off Amazon and now I'm not sure if it's the right one...is this what people use? https://www.amazon.co.uk/Pre-Seed-Fertility-Friendly-Lubricant-Multi-Use-Applicators/dp/B004382GWK

I would recommend this. I think it helped with the second. Just something to help things along. 😃

I will second the charting. I used http://www.fertilityfriend.com/ to show me my chart, but it wasn't necessary if you have the time to plot it out on a chart yourself. I also liked their forums for asking questions of others who were TTC.

Also, I've read that regular lubrication can be counterproductive for sperm. I used Pre-seed. I really liked it a lot more then any other lubrication I've every used and still use it after getting pregnant.

I always recommend pre-seed to anyone trying!

You might try something like Pre-Seed: Amazon Link

I know it might be weird to buy a lubricant that is "safe for conception" (and I have no insight as to whether it helps that or not). But it is very neutral and has helped with burning and sensitivity, etc. However, it is not a thick lubricant, so you may need to use a lot, and it is expensive. It also dries out pretty fast (but that's water-based lubricant for you).

Hope this helps!

You definitely need to look into pre-seed lubricant. Worked for us on the first try (with the lube) after we had tried for a year without.

Me wife just bought this. https://www.amazon.com/Pre-Seed-Fertility-Friendly-Personal-Lubricant-applicators/dp/B004382GWK
Supposedly it's good for sperm. Time will tell.

Preseed has worked well for me so far. I had a bunch left over from TTC since I didn't really end up needing it for TTC. I always had so much EWCM around my fertile window. But now? Just a lot of creamy CM that doesn't feel lubricating at all.

I generally only use about 1/4 to 1/2 of the recommend amount of Preseed. Using the full recommended amount is, for me, messy and just too much. Someone over on TFAB said their husband referred to their vaginal as a "frictionless void" after using the full amount of preseed and I find that to be a pretty accurate description. Your results may vary though.

Other than that I'd have to second the suggestion to pick up a lube designed for anal play. They're generally better for situations where there is no natural lubrication.

ETA: You could probably get some good lube suggestions over on /r/sex.

My SO is similarly sensitive, and loves "Pre-seed"....it's intended to be used for folks who are trying to get pregnant, because it's gentle enough not to kill the sperm.....it also seems to be gentle for sensitive users.
