I am also incredibly inflexible, specifically in my hamstrings! I started getting into yoga with a fertility practice in September and that's poured over into a prenatal practice. I can't recommend Shiva Rea's Prenatal Yoga enough. It's really gentle but still challenging for beginners like us.
It includes squats, kegels, core strengtheners - all the goodies moms to be need for a good and healthy birth. She has models for modifications for both the second and third trimesters which can be used in the first trimester if you are inflexible!
I also found some prenatal cardio workouts online but I haven't tried any yet.
I think the biggest piece of advice I've been seeing is that you can add activity, but nothing super strenuous where you're stressing your body out in ways it's not used to. I lift 30-50 pounds at work all the time, and walk about 20k steps on the days I'm there. My whole shift I average 90-100 BPM. My midwife says that's ok because I'm used to it. But if someone who averages 5k steps a day and doesn't lift anything got pregnant and started a fitness routine that upped their step count by 15k, had a bunch of lifting and elevated their heart rate for 6-8 hours the doctor would say absolutely not. It's a shock to the system.
Mostly I've seen that you should do walking, yoga, running if you ran before the pregnancy and light lifting - they have some recommendations for lifting in What to Expect When You're Expecting.
Hope that helps!

I bought Shiva Rea's Prenatal Yoga (by Gaiam) and it's ok. It's pretty long, so I don't usually do the whole DVD but it's nice because they have a lady for each trimester doing each pose so you can adjust for what's more comfortable for you. I don't use it as much as I thought I would, the main lady kind of bothers me for some reason, but every time I do, I feel really good after.

Yeah I couldn't find any actual classes in my area so I bought a DVD from amazon. I just sorted by best ratings and got the Gaiam one. It's pretty good, even though I misunderstood and thought it was divided by trimester where you choose your trimester. Instead it's just three ladies and you watch the one who matches your trimester. It's not too bad to follow since they are in different colored leotards.
Sorry for the slow reply! It's this one: Prenatal Yoga with Shiva Rae
I went to a local walk-in clinic after I got a couple of positive home pregnancy test results (I don't have a family doctor because they're so hard to find here), and then they referred me to a delivery practice. If you know you want to go with a midwife, you can look up practices in your area and contact them--you may have to get on a waiting list.
I'm almost 26 weeks along and some stuff that's really helped me so far, all on the advice from other women around me who are pregnant or have recently had babies:
It's great that you've started on the prenatal vitamins and cutting out caffeine. Just try to eat as well as you can, exercise, and rest as much as you like. And I think the others are right--it won't be easy to tell your other half, but it's best to do it sooner than later so you can give him more time to deal with it. But definitely tell a couple of other people you're really close to, whether it's your best friend or parents or whatever. You'll want that support whether telling him goes well or not.
I find this dvd super helpful! It shows adaptations for second and third trimesters. And has instruction on kegels!
