I had no clue about the dangers and about a month ago I read all the horrors stories and felt sick over it. I threw away the hut, and I have a much better conscience. Honestly, my birb didn’t sleep in hers, she sleeps on her swing, but I’ve seen people in my bird group rave about the sea grass huts as a similar and safe alternative. We used to have a happy hut, until he decided to destroy it (practically overnight). We since switched to a sea grass hut that he enjoyed until the spring and then destroyed it as well. At least we didn't have to worry about him ingesting fabric or getting tangled in it though.
