Plastic construction for easy cleaningMice cannot take the bait without triggering the trapSimple to set and empty--no need to touch miceQuick and effectiveSafe to use around children and pets
Yeah you get plastic '1 way' traps which are humane. You do need to release them a couple miles away to stop them returning and being more annoying. Something like this will do the trick if you use decent bait
One humane trap and a jar of peanut butter.
Obviously you don't have to do this and it's just what I did. Get two of these;

Put peanut butter inside the trap. Once you capture the mice, put both traps in a cardboard box/shoebox and take it 2 miles away (minimum) and release the mice.
I hope this helps! I live in London and had a similar problem with mice! Most of the old build houses in London are mouldy and have mice.
Humane traps are very effective. Our cat brings in mice all the time. We use this one.

Stuff steel wool in all the holes and gaps in the house. Then buy a humane trap and bait it with KFC chicken, crucially, remember to add a bit of the skin. You'll have to do near nightly mouse rehoming for weeks though. I dropped mine off at a local park. I suppose you could kill them if you're into that sort of thing.
I use this trap: Pest-Stop Trip-Trap Boxed Pack (Single) https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B000LXWQBW/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_TWccAbK11HBFV
