i've heard nothing but good things about the hori real arcade pro 4 kai (EU139.39) (link below).
i did the same and learned with a hori fight stick mini which was an awesome experience, although awkward to get used to the position at first, still using it to this day but got a pro 4 kai on the way.
the mini fight stick did require some 3rd party software (joy2key) to run, but very easy to set up, and very responsive.

hope this helps!

Im also a returning tekken player and thought about starting fresh with the use of an arcade stick. You can check out my recent post for arcade stick recommendations here. I will probably get this one (im not sure if it works for xbox though) to get started with, and to see if an arcade stick is something for me :)

The german Amazon still has some. Choose the cheaper ones for 37€ under new which are also from Amazon, which I bought. Only disadvantage is that it says it comes earliest at 16. April. Also can't say if it's cheaper than jp amazon with the shipping costs, better check both.

Obviously it's a beginner thing, if you're super into it I'd recommend spending a bit more. That's not the same one I was thinking of either, I'm remembering a small white thing with green buttons. This was back when SFIV came out though.

One of thems, plus an adapter, plus a 3d-printed slot of some sort...

... tempting, tempting!

The Hori Fighting Stick Mini seems pretty compact, although it's also cheap so the parts and build quality might not be too great. I don't know if it's mod-able at all either, so you might look into that before you pull the trigger on one.

You could also save some space on just about any stick by swapping the stock joystick shaft with a Phreak Mods Link. I can say from experience that being able to pop the stick off and put it in my pocket really makes the whole thing a lot less awkward to pack around, but the new shape of the shaft does take a little getting used to at first.

Hey, with you providing great info before I thought to question you on this stick - Any thoughts? I assume with 3rd party software it would work on PC though could be wrong. Thanks :D

The HORI RAP 4 is a solid choice.

If you really want to go cheap the HORI Mini works well enough. If you stick with fightticks you will almost certainly replace it, which I did with the RAP 4. That said, the Mini still serves as my spare if anyone is over.
