I have that third board, got it off MassDrop last year and I love it! It's my first board and I don't have many complaints. Solid construction, good finish, no dead LEDs after a year -- the keys are eggshell white and get dirty super easily and the polished edge of the board scratches super easy, but it's a great board otherwise. 9/10 do recommend. Here's my unboxing ftc

Edit: for those looking for a backlit version off of Amazon, heres the one I ordered with orange WASD/blue lights, here is a black body blue backlit version sold by the manufacturer and heres a silver body white light version. Heres an unlit version on prime day special for $35.

u/mrselkies · 5 pointsr/MechanicalKeyboards

You'll want to check out the Magicforce 68. The backlit versions go for $60-70 I believe. Also there's the Tada68 but you'll need to pick up some backlit keycaps to make it shinethrough, as it comes with LEDs but the keycaps it comes with are regular keycaps resulting in an underglow kind of look.

Here's a link to the backlit Magicforce, keep in mind it also comes in a version with white keycaps and silver plate, and you can get different switches also.

u/n4ru · 4 pointsr/quityourbullshit

You would NOT have to flash it every time, unless your firmware has not been written with that in mind... As I've already mentioned, every layer can control the speed, and the hardware is the lowest.

Since you can't seem to take my word for it, here's a link to the amazon page. Click an image of the WASD area zoomed in, and look at the keys that say 20C/sec through 60C/sec which refers to the frequency toggle.

u/BloodrootKid · 4 pointsr/MechanicalKeyboards

The one if the pic is the Magicforce 68

Also purchasable on Amazon

u/kaybeerry · 3 pointsr/MechanicalKeyboards

My opinion on the lower end of the market is that the cheapo guys (that have standard bottom row) are all pretty comparable from $30 to $150. Nothing gets markedly better and you can replace a $30 board 5 times before you get to the "razer gaming" board of similar quality.

https://www.amazon.com/Qisan-Keyboard-Mechanical-Backlight-Magicforce/dp/B017N5SH6S

I started with a CM Quickfire which I paid about $100 for. It was fine, but I caught the keyboard building bug and have since make plenty of better boards. That said, the cheap boards I built are in the 200-250 range when you factor in caps and they're not much better than the cheapo I linked.

My favorite boards are a Planck ($350), an AEK64 ($375), a JD45 ($400), a NerD60 ($520), and a minivan with roadkit ($700). This perspective may skew my opinion on those chap boards.

Also, I don't recommend adding up your keyboard component costs. It causes you to realize things about your priorities. Bad things.

u/ns90 · 3 pointsr/MechanicalKeyboards

The only thing I can think of that comes close is the Magicforce 68, and even then, the Home and End keys are on the second layer where Page Up and Page down are. However, if you decide to build you own, you have a bunch of options.

u/LegacySystem · 3 pointsr/MechanicalKeyboards

Yeah I just might ditch the rgb then. I don't need it I just got a mouse and I thought it was the coolest thing ever but I know it's extremely unnecessary especially with my budget.

Is this one good?

u/hicknubbard · 3 pointsr/MechanicalKeyboards

The Magicforce 68 is a great entry level mechanical keyboard. You can still buy them on amazon if you don't want to wait until September (though, of course, you'll lose the ability to customize one). Here is the link to buy the model with black switches. In the "related items" section, there should be more switch options to chose from.

u/CatsGoBark · 3 pointsr/buildapc

Can't go wrong with a Magicforce. A lot of people have this one and recommend it. Mech keyboards can get pretty expensive though and this is on the cheaper end.

u/fullcircle_bflo · 3 pointsr/buildapc

$50 is tough for a mech, which is annoying. There are a lot of boards under $50 of varying quality. One that gets a lot of love over on /r/MechanicalKeyboards is the Magicforce. Its got a smaller form factor, but good quality, backlights and standard key sizes. Its available in a number of different types of switches, and in black color or white.

u/nez-niz · 2 pointsr/MechanicalKeyboards

You'll find it under Quisan most likely

u/macmakkara · 2 pointsr/EliteDangerous

Poker is around 100 bucks. Magiforce etc are closer to 30. Or this. https://www.amazon.com/Qisan-Mechanical-Backlight-Cable-Black-Magicforce/dp/B017N5SH6S this is just rebrand of magiforce.

u/machinehead933 · 2 pointsr/buildapc

I don't personally have any experience, but the MagicForce 68 is often recommended at this price point. It is tenkeyless - so no numberpad, if you care about that.

u/RubenMcNoobin · 2 pointsr/MechanicalKeyboards

How about the Magicforce-68? I got mine from Massdrop a week ago and love it, and someone here found them on Amazon too

I'm not sure what switches they have though one there, but there's a white and black version. I love having the arrow keys slightly offset too so they're easy to feel for.

45 Gateron Blues, TKL, Red LEDS

60 Magicforce, 68K, alot of people like this one.

40 To be honest never heard of this one, huge bezel, "blue" switches, and just 40$.

70 QFR, Genuine Cherry blue switches, TKL, great board all around

65 Genuine Cherry TKL

u/Fopenplop · 2 pointsr/MechanicalKeyboards

Is this not in black?

u/Darkblade48 · 2 pointsr/MechanicalKeyboards

There are Magicforce68s that are black, but you may not want it since you specified a TKL.

For that, perhaps a Ganss or a Ducky One on sale might be your best bet

u/intrepped · 2 pointsr/MechanicalKeyboards

Nope, I just assumed you have some type of Amazon gift card or credit. Maybe you have limited purchasing power, who knows. Anyway, here are a few very valid options for you:

iKBC F108 Slightly out of price range, but will be the best option I am going to list here. PBT stock caps, $90 USD

MagicForce 108 $70USD and has gateron black switches (smoother than cherry, but slightly more wobble)

MagicForce 68 $60USD and really good if you like smaller form factors

Drevo Gramr $40 USD with Outemu blacks. Not the best switch, but people rank them among cherry and gateron and they are much cheaper. Smaller layout but not as small as the Magic Force 68.

u/RedMoth11 · 2 pointsr/MechanicalKeyboards

what do you mean by real switches?
here is the keyboard i'm going to buy soon
http://www.amazon.com/Qisan-Mechanical-Backlight-Cable-Black-Magicforce/dp/B017N5SH6S
if you want to buy it's got kalih black switches which are stiff linear.
i don't have it yet but i am going to buy it eventually. it takes standard cherry mx stem switches.

u/iSythe · 2 pointsr/MechanicalKeyboards

I noticed there are some already on special. With the nicer switches.

Gateron Red$55.50

Kailh Black$52.55

Cherry Red$66.38

Cherry Brown$69.99

u/gimli123262 · 2 pointsr/MechanicalKeyboards

It's a little difficult for me to find places in the US that sell them, all my results are UK vendors... but I found this on Amazon, although it is much more expensive than the white version.

u/mrauls · 2 pointsr/MechanicalKeyboards

Check out the Magiforce 68

u/william_nillington · 1 pointr/MechanicalKeyboards

Oh man...I just ordered one from Amazon yesterday for the same price, but it appears to have Kailh black switches. I'm a bit wary about Kailh switches, but I'll be getting it on Wednesday instead of sometime in April.

If anyone else wants faster shipping but Kailh black switches:

this is ok, just feels a little small. not even sure why I need the extra plastic to be honest, just always had more normal sized keyboards. whats the disadvantage of the 68 key mini design, besides no numpad?

On a compact layout keyboard like this (or this), the F-keys are usually on an alternate layer so the top row in this case is standard numerals followed by the minus and equals. The F-keys are accessed in combination with the Func key to the right of the space bar. The rest of the bottom row is made up of standard Ctrl, Win (OS), and Alt keys, albeit with symbolic legends instead of printed ones.

Programmability comes in varying degrees, with some as limited as just swapping some of the bottom row keys via dip-switches on the underside of the board. Some like the popular POK3R allow reassigning of most key functions via a series of keystrokes after entering a built-in programming mode. Many of the more popular kit-built boards that show up here allow complete programmability via firmware flashing on the on-board controller.

u/PhillAholic · 1 pointr/MechanicalKeyboards

Any idea if this is the same board? - http://www.amazon.com/Qisan-Keyboard-Mechanical-Backlight-Cable-Black/dp/B017N5SH6S/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1452972020&sr=8-2&keywords=magicforce

(Though in black of course)

I'm really wondering how it compares to my current CMstorm Quickfire w/ Browns that recently died.

I am looking to buy this keyboard and I found out that the F keys are on top of the number keys. My question is how do I use the F keys on this keyboard? Control+number?

u/TheHonoredOne · 1 pointr/pcmasterrace

Yeah, I've been looking at Pok3r's since my N key died, I've heard a lot about the Magic force as well, will definitely start seriously looking into the keyboards that I see in that sub. to be clear, this is the keyboard you're talking about, right? and is it RGB or just blue? Not that it really matters to me, my set up is bright blue and pink.

u/eizdeb · 1 pointr/MechanicalKeyboards

aaaaand if you like that style of keyboard the Magicforce 68 is a pretty good budget alternative:

https://www.amazon.com/Qisan-Mechanical-Backlight-Cable-Black-Magicforce/dp/B017N5SH6S

Comes available in white as well and with different switch options, so make sure you know what kind of switch you want to use before you pull the trigger.

u/ahkjounam · 1 pointr/MechanicalKeyboards

Has the magicforce ever drop in price? I'm not currently in a rush and can wait 2,3,4 months for the right keyboard to drop in price! And is massdrop a store? Or a promotion of sorts?
Edit: will changed to has

Is this a good deal?
Or is this a different keyboard altogether? Are K Blacks any good?

brushed metal body, PBT keycaps.

Kailh switches, they're like mx cherry so you can get replacement keycaps.

Here are some good (in my opinion, others may recommend others/not these) starter boards that are generally well received around here, complete with Amazon links to actually buy them (complete versions). For key caps, you're going to want to look to the more boutique sites like Massdrop or PimpMyKeyboard .

Magicforce if you don't mind black switches, otherwise there's blues as well.

Massdrop currently has the WhiteFox on sale, but it's a no go if you aren't a fan of the hefty price tag.

There's also the AK33 and V60 on massdrop, both quality 60% boards. Just keep in mind the time it'll take to ship the boards if you buy them from massdrop.

Oh, and the Pok3rs. There are many, different kinds of pokers around, just browse through mechanicalkeyboards.com and you can find them with and without backlighting, different switches, and all that jazz.

If you were looking for something different and a little more DIY, there's also the ortholinear keyboards, the Planck and Atomic, though it'll definitely be pricier in terms of assembly, plus you'd have to assemble them yourself.

u/ultranoob321 · 1 pointr/MechanicalKeyboards

If you don't mind not having dedicated function keys but still want arrows, the Magicforce is a cheap entry board that works well. If you just want a 60% (Magicforce but without arrows and the 2x2 cluster) the KC60 is a solid option, and on Massdrop right now.

u/KazumaDuy · 1 pointr/MechanicalKeyboards

Not to discount your purchase. I got one on Amazon as well, black case, but with black switches that had blue and orange lighting. So it may be a difference in the seller or something else. Can't take a picture now since I took the bloody thing apart cause I hate linears and was planning on switching out the switches when purchasing it.

Edit: This is the one I purchased LINK

u/chuckdee68 · 1 pointr/MechanicalKeyboards

I would have included the Qisan Magicforce 68. Other than the CM, I'd take it over any of the listed ones, and it's cheap too... $70 for Browns, others are cheaper. I... dislike the keycaps (dislike is being nice), but that's easily replaceable down the line.

u/FallenTheDoge · 1 pointr/MechanicalKeyboards

Hello again !

I posted here yesterday being doubtful about what I should look for and found a great help !

Now I have some final question before buying a keyboard.

So I was looking for Backlights, key floating, 60% keyboard with probably cherry mx red.

Was first looking for an ISO layout since I was used to it but seems like they're harder to find and I might want to change since I've seen only positive comments about switching from ISO to ANSI.

I ordered a switch tester to be sure the cherry mx red will be the best for me aswell.

Now my question is: which one ?

Model | Price | pro or cons
-|-|-
KBP Paradise V60Plus | less than 100 $ | no RGB but only blue/red backlights
Magicforce | 60 $ or more | Kailh switches, are they any good?
KBC Pok3r 3 | over 143 € without shipping | only found one with cherry mx brown :/

I feel like the KBP is the one I'll get since I'm sure I won't have too much shipping cost, since price seems to be lowered already, and even if it doesn't have floating keys It'll be perfectly fine, however have to say I was hyped by the Pok3r but I'm really hesitating with the KBP and I can't find the Pok3r in europe, with RGB and cherry mx red.

I'm looking for any advice, tip, personal opinion and reviews. Thanks in advance !

Also ! Will using an ANSI keyboard on a laptop with an ISO layout keyboard will cause me any problem excepted the fact I might have to swap for FR(azerty) to EN(qwerty) layout pretty often and get used to ISO+qwerty?

Also, since I was looking for a custom key cap, I was first looking for buying one from WASD but seems like I shouldn't, tried to look at Max keyboard but they don't have as much choice, any other recommandation?

u/dismalduke · 1 pointr/MechanicalKeyboards

I see one on amazon but it has colored LEDs can you change the colorways or is this a different model?
