Seriously. Pubic hair comes in so many types, like head hair, that it needs a separate sub or forum or something.

“Ooh, I just condition, shave and rub deodorant on the area.” Cool, cool, glad that works for you. I’ve tried so many things, each for months on end, and nothing works. Shaving, trimming, plucking each hair out with tweezers, home waxing (practiced elsewhere first), rolling hair remover, and at this point I could pull it out with my hands if I wanted.

Doing these results in ingrown hair...not doing something about it also results in ingrown hair. Tried conditioner, oil, hair masque, deodorant, etc; my hair grows sharp and can grow back in towards my skin, yet also grows straight and randomly bends in zig-zag patterns, making sure I know it’ll never be cute. I have so many scars. It scars sometimes just from being removed. It’s Type 666. It’s Satan manifested as pubic hair.

Again, pubic hair is as diverse as head hair, but there’s more misconceptions that’ll likely end in dangerous ingrowns or yeast infections or whatever. Pubic hair needs its own “beauty care” guidebook.

Tweezing at first does hurt but you get used to it the more you do it and now I don't even feel any pain. I think I tried waxing once and it was very unpleasant and I still had to tweeze afterwards. Your makeup looks very pretty otherwise.

I have no idea if it would work with your particular hair, but I "de-fuzz" my wife's face using this: REM Spring Facial Hair Remover.

It hurts like a bitch but it works really well. It takes some trial and error to get good at using it but now that I've got it down I can remove all the fuzz in about 5 minutes or so.

Old Asian method of hair removal that's come back into vogue in the last few years. I personally have had good results with this, for home use.

I can't stand the thought of shaving, so I use this. Works perfectly once you get the hang of it.

I second the suggestions about chemical exfoliants - maybe switch to a salicylic acid wash as you're already treating with benzoyl peroxide (which can also be contributing to the irritation) or try a BHA toner, Paula's Choice makes some good ones. I just wanted to ask, have you ever tried a spring facial hair remover? I use it and have no problems with irritation or ingrowns. Also, did you use the CeraVe lotion before you started breaking out? If you introduced it after starting to epilate you might want to try switching to something else, a lot of people break out from CeraVe moisturizers.

Holy cow so many people shaving! For reference, I'm of Mediterranean decent and threading faces is a biweekly event for all the ladies in my family. I have dark hair and, if I let it go, you can clearly see a nice mustache, wild brows, exceeding hairline onto my temples and sideburns, and a overall gray haze on my face. I've been threading my entire face for years.

Honestly, yeah it hurts at the beginning for a while, but god my face never feels as breathable and exfoliated as after a nice threading session. Just be sure to baby your face after for that day by gently wiping with cotton soaked with rose water or a gentle olive oil cleanser and using a very gentle moisturizer. Don't put on any make up for that day or your face will break out. You need to give that day to your skin to breathe after weeks of wearing makeup.

Obviously YMMV. This is just my routine! :)

If you get them threaded again, they'll grow out without the ends blunt again.

But for long term, if you don't want to get an electric epilator or lasered or shave it more often, I'd go with something like this. Depending on how thin your hairs are, it might work really well and it's relatively inexpensive.

Shaving = ingrown hairs and irritation for most poeple.

The more blades, the more likely you are to get ingrowns -- you don't just take off the hair, you also take off layers of skin. The skin then heals over the hair follicle, and you get an ingrown.

I might suggest going once a week to get your face threaded. It's a very low contact, low irritation method.

I use a REM Spring which someone told me is gentler than threading. So far I like it. It does hurt a bit when you first use it, but it's not that bad. I've never had much irritation from it, but mind you, my skin is not too sensitive. Might be worth looking into. There are cheaper knock off versions if it seems a bit too pricey:

I have a lot of peach fuzz on my face too. This product removes hair very easily and doesn't hurt very badly. It's cheap and works well. Just roll the spring over your face and it removes the hairs, even the little downy ones.

My sister and I both use a spring facial hair remover. We each have our own of course...


It hurts a lot less than threading since it doesn't tug on the hairs forever before finally pulling it out. It irritates our skin a lot less compared to waxing, because it only grabs the hair. Plus, you don't have to wait for it to grow to a certain length before removing.

I bought the R.E.M. Spring about 4 months ago, tried it once, and broke out around my upper lip. I'll try it out again soon. It took me almost an hour of playing with it to get the hang of it, and it hurt.

I have this one, but i did not know of cheaper ones when i got this, I think you can now get them for a lot less.

Oh jeez, I'm sorry. was one of them the manual, spring-based one? That one has given me zero irritation, while the other two have given me some. Might be worth a try if you haven't tried it at all. Apologies if you've tried that too, I have too much brain fog to be able to tell. If you haven't and do pick one up, you can use it a tiny bit each day, and avoid aggravating your skin somewhat.

Have you tried the Spring Sprong?
Basically it's a spring that you roll across the areas you want to remove the hair from and it plucks the hair. It may sound painful, but as a woman who also suffers from facial hair, I couldn't recommend it more.
If you go to amazon you will see several kinds of spring hair removals. I've bought the original spring sprong (and when I thought I lost it) a cheaper knock off version. Having purchased both, take my advice and go with the original spring sprong, it's a little more flexible and in turn seems to pull out more hair in a pass. It does seem a little uncomfortable at first, but within the same session of hair pulling it will become numb and not be too bothersome.
Also if you do decide to use it, please take my advise and make sure to wash your face before AND after to avoid breakouts.
Really, I've tried waxing, plucking, bleaching, and this was by far my favorite way to address the issue.

I use it once a week for maintenance. It doesn't remove hair as well as waxing does, but it gets maybe 97% off. I usually pluck a few of hairs after each use and I'm done!

Yes! Ladies, I highly, highly recommend using a spring facial hair remover if you don't already. The amount of time I save using this thing was well worth the $20 I paid for it. There are also much cheaper options, but I haven't tried them out, so I can't vouch for their effectiveness.
