The 80s Satanic Panic as it relates to D&D is a pet historical hobby of mine, and I collect paraphernalia related to it, although my collection is embarrassingly small. I grew up in the Bible Belt during its height, though, and my parents did buy into it for a while, although eventually they relented when I was in high school. I wrote a paper about the greater Satanic Panic for an American History class back in College, so I'm more than happy to help out with this however I can. :D
