Just so you're aware, left handed versions of those keypad mice do exist and sound like they could be a big help if you're looking to get her into PC gaming.

Floor switches also exist that allow you to map keys to pedals. I don't have an example of those, but foot-based WASD keys aren't out of the question. PC really does have a lot of options for alternate control schemes.

I also have a brain tumor and had to learn to game one-handed a few years ago. Mine is stable now but I still suffer from bi-lateral weakness and other medical issues that cause me to revert to one-handed playing. I just wanted to pass on a little info because I was able to learn to play WoW and other games 100% using only one hand.

For a mouse you can use a left handed Naga:

https://www.amazon.com/Razer-Naga-Handed-Gaming-Mouse/dp/B00EO2ECUY

You can arrange it however you like but as an example, I have auto-run toggle (cruise control on and off basically) bound to tilting the mouse wheel right. I assigned riding my mount to tilting the wheel left. Then all my characters abilities and the menus I need most frequently are assigned to the buttons on the side of the mouse. You can also assign a shift key, meaning you have two different sets of buttons on the mouse that you can toggle between. That gives you 20+ buttons from just your one hand.

I rolled a Shaman and I was able to play healer (restoration) and melee damage (enhancement) specs easily with one hand. There are a few other classes with even less commands that would work for this just fine as well. Death Knights (Frost at least) and Hunters come to mind.

So the mouse, the Razor software that came with it, and the key assignment menu in WoW was all I needed to play completely fine with one hand. I even got compliments on my performance from time to time without anyone even knowing I had a handicap.

If you want even more ways to input commands then there are other devices out there. One that I know is used frequently (even by people without disabilities) is the Stinkyboard foot controller. I have no experience with it but in my time on forums with other handicapped gamers I heard nothing but good things about it:

If you have any questions about my one-handed gaming journey or just want to talk about brain tumor stuff then feel free to PM me anytime.

Edit:

I just came out of another serious health issue in the past week so this is still fresh in my mind. Just to add onto what I said above, WoW is like the perfect game for people that have issues inputting commands quickly or accurately. I find myself recommending it to SO many people I meet while at the doctor's office, infusion centers, rehabs, etc.

Of course you can play the parts of the game that everyone else does like questing, completing dungeons, and raiding. And there's pet battling like you mentioned. But you can also become the freakin profession master. When I was at my worst health-wise I would get on WoW and level professions for hours on end and forget all about my tumor. The good thing about professions is that you can do it entirely at your own pace. Feel bad all of the sudden? Just stop playing and log out. Or start a batch of potions crafting and take a rest. As a bonus you become a very valuable asset to any guild. And on top of that you can make a fortune off your profession by using the auction house. I'm still WoW-rich from those years of playing while I was recovering from chemo and whatnot. (shoutout to r/woweconomy ). One thing you'll learn is that if it can be auctioned then there is someone out there that needs it. Once you realize that it gives you a nice sense of purpose to know that you're actually helping a real person.

That's not even the best part though. The most important thing about making auctions was that I always had something to look forward to the next morning. I'm sure you know that sometimes it's hard to even get out of bed but you'll feel way more inclined to take that first step each day if you know there's some gold waiting in your mailbox.

There's even more to do beyond professions (like your Garrison and now Class Order Hall) but I'll stop here. Just know that WoW can be a valuable tool to help you cope and recover. Even at my worst times health-wise I was able to truly enjoy myself in WoW and other games. I was able to get some relief that I couldn't get anywhere else and part of me actually thinks I owe my life to them.

Razer makes a left handed naga chroma that has enough buttons to bind things like movement and other keys too.

There's also the reddit board https://www.reddit.com/r/disabledgamers/

Hopefully this isn't a rude question - do you have a fully functioning left hand? If so, you could try something like a razor naga mouse for left handed people, which has a dozen buttons on the side, plus the standard left/right/scroll, and two buttons above the scroll wheel. Use those to map instead of the typical keybindings. Use shift+1 instead of shift+c for example. It's what I use, and while it does take some getting used to, it's AMAZING once you know how to use it.

The one mouse of that type that's specifically for lefties that I know of is the Razer Naga

u/PrionBacon · 3 pointsr/buildapc

Razer has always been good with providing left hand options:

Basic 2 thumb button DeathAdder $54: http://www.amazon.com/Razer-DeathAdder-3500-Gaming-Mouse/dp/B003EUPCZG

More complicated 12 thumb button Naga $74: http://www.amazon.com/Razer-Naga-Handed-Gaming-Mouse/dp/B00EO2ECUY

I can't provide any personal experiences with them though.

u/ssalp · 3 pointsr/ffxiv

This one but it is known to be hit and miss as far as quality goes. I had the right handed one for 1 and a half years before the left mouse button broke. I heard from others that they've had them for years.

u/MarshalMazda · 3 pointsr/pcmasterrace

https://www.amazon.ca/Razer-Naga-Handed-Gaming-Mouse/dp/B00EO2ECUY
That might work although I have no idea whether Razer has improved their quality since the last time I purchased anything from them.

Get him this as a present:

http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00EO2ECUY/ref=redir_mdp_mobile/190-5050533-4595113

I think he will love it. Hope he has fun!

u/SuperCredit · 2 pointsr/Smite

Here's just one of many I found http://www.amazon.com/Razer-Naga-Handed-Gaming-Mouse/dp/B00EO2ECUY

specifically left handed. I can come back with some keyboards as well

u/StarlessMirage · 2 pointsr/Overwatch

To sum up what have been said by others, I think you could go with a setup like this one:

  • a left-handed or ambidextrous mouse with several programmable buttons where you can place abilities or call-outs. Here's a couple ones: SteelSeries Sensei 310 - Razer Naga - BenQ Zowie FK1 (some of them aren't made for FPS so you might wanna try them first)

  • a fragpedal for crouching and jumping

  • for WASD, if you can't find the joystick things Nicholas is talking about another solution could be to get an arcade stick and use joytokey to remap the analog joystick to WASD keys. There are small and relatively cheap ones like this one. These analog sticks have the advantage of giving a very clear feel of the direction you're pressing through distinct "clicks". You might also be able to find standalone joysticks with a similar feel.
u/Seiyr · 2 pointsr/wow
u/Clessiah · 2 pointsr/razer

The directional pad on Tartarus is more of an 8 directions pad instead of an analog stick, which means even if you manage to map mouse controls to it the result will be rather clunky.

On top of my head I can think of following possible alternatives:

u/DarkDragoon4 · 2 pointsr/razer

They make a left handed naga: http://www.amazon.com/Razer-Naga-Handed-Gaming-Mouse/dp/B00EO2ECUY

I recently picked up a Taipan to replace my Copperhead. If the Lachesis was on the market I would have gotten it as it's basically the same shape as the Copperhead with similar button placement. The biggest dislike coming from the Copperhead to the Taipan is the side buttons are too easily pressed because of the way I hold the mouse. I tend to hit the far side buttons with my ring finger during heated sessions. This wasn't a problem with the Copperhead since the side buttons were tucked under a bit.
As for durability, I haven't had it too long to go too far into that. It feels nice. I'm not that worried though. Every problem that ever came to my Copperhead was easily fixed and I don't see much of an issue here either.

u/SystemFolder · 2 pointsr/southpaws

I’d probably go with the DEEBOL Gaming Keyboard.

If you’re looking for a gaming mouse, the Razer Naga is good for southpaws.

u/Horny_Insomnia · 2 pointsr/wow

Razer makes a left handed 2 button https://www.amazon.com/Razer-DeathAdder-Essentials-Ergonomic-Gaming/dp/B003EUPCZG and left handed MMO mouse. https://www.amazon.com/Razer-Naga-Handed-Gaming-Mouse/dp/B00EO2ECUY I've used both and would seggest them both.

u/beaverusiv · 1 pointr/BaseBuildingGames

Yup, I can play a lot of games with just my left hand seeing as my mouse has extra 12 buttons: https://www.amazon.com/Razer-Naga-Left-Handed-Programmable-Adjustible/dp/B00EO2ECUY

u/MrProfPatrickPhD · 1 pointr/gamingsuggestions

You could pick up a left handed MMO mouse and try out Diablo 3 or another ARPG? This one seems like a decent one!

https://smile.amazon.com/Razer-Naga-Left-Handed-Programmable-Adjustible/dp/B00EO2ECUY?sa-no-redirect=1

Edit: This one is out of stock unfortunately but I'll leave the link in case anyone wan't to watch for a restock

u/nerfviking · 1 pointr/starbound

So, a couple suggestions:

You might consider getting a (left-handed) mouse with a lot of buttons on it and then mapping those buttons to keyboard functions. Here's one on amazon.

https://www.amazon.com/Razer-Naga-Handed-Gaming-Mouse/dp/B00EO2ECUY/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&keywords=gaming+mouse+left+handed&qid=1477060008&sr=8-2&tag=gadgetpicks-20

That should give you most of the keyboard functionality you need (jump, item select, etc).

The thing that will be most difficult is that you need some way to control your character movement. Some folks mentioned foot pads. Also, if you have sufficient dexterity in your arm, you might try getting a large joystick and affixing your hand to it in some way (velcro straps or something?) and then mapping joystick movements to WASD.

u/TrustmeIknowaguy · 1 pointr/wow

Use a left handed Naga. I main havoc and I use a right handed logitech G600 (lot more buttons but I don't use like a third of em). I don't have any issues with my hands but looking at my mouse and keybinds you could pretty much get every important ability on the mouse. If you can press shift with your bad hand, or bind shift to the mouse wheel or something you could double the amount of abilities on buttons and not need a single macro.
Edit: You'd also probably have to bind jump to a button so binding the mouse wheel to shift would be the best option in this set up freeing up your thumb to access to potentially 24ish commands depending on what you do with jumping or other things I'm not thinking of.

u/SalisburyShrimp · 1 pointr/starcitizen

I actually thought about using a Left Handed Razer Naga, though it would really be weird to fire with my left hand (at first I guess).

u/kkitani · 1 pointr/ffxiv

As a fellow left-hander, I feel your pain. Hard not to drool over the gaming mice and realize you can't use one.

There is the Razer Naga left-handed version, which is one of the few left-handed gaming mice out there.

https://www.amazon.com/Razer-Naga-Handed-Gaming-Mouse/dp/B00EO2ECUY

Ironically, I tried it but couldn't get used to it so went back to a non-ergonomic non-gaming mouse.

u/engineerfromhell · 1 pointr/pcmasterrace

There's a Razer mice for lefthanded, I think it's a Naga series.

Edit: direct link.

u/zaery · 1 pointr/WorldofTanks

If you're good with your thumb, i suggest a left handed Razer Naga. 12 buttons on the side, which can be remapped to basically anything, like WASD, 1-6, etc.

u/inGibus · 1 pointr/dayz

http://www.amazon.com/Razer-Naga-Handed-Gaming-Mouse/dp/B00EO2ECUY

I think Razer Naga would be your best choice, programmable keys allows you to play any game with only one hand.
Plus as someone said, you could get pedals for additional keys.

u/djk316 · 1 pointr/disabledgamers

You could try something like the Razer Naga.

Yeah the Naga has a left hand version, you can get it on their site or places like Amazon.
