I used to curl my hair with a straightener and I think curling with a wand is SO much easier and gives better curls. I have this in both sizes and it works amazingly. Obviously the smaller the wand, the tighter the curls. What someone else mentioned is curling with it facing down and that's the easiest way. I honestly just rest my hand on the top/side of my head while curling. Ik a lot of girls suggest mixing up the direction for a more "natural" look but I personally prefer having all my hair curling backwards.

Just wanted to pop in as another do not go to Ulta advisor. I have been advised by someone who worked at both Sephora and Ulta to only buy dry shampoo from Ulta based on the way she saw returned product handled and some sanitization issues. So I did; I personally love having this on hand. I have extremely thick hair that I need to run a Chi through multiple times to avoid the crimp marks and actually straighten. If I wash my hair more than every 3-4 days it actually looks more greasy and unclean than if I don't, so I'll use dry shampoo for inbetweens and it pops my hair right back into professional shape for work with little effort in the morning.

In my experience, some people love wands and some people hate them, it's one of those things that doesn't have much middle ground, I love mine . I recommend getting a less expensive one that comes with a heat glove, like this one. That way if she likes the feel and design you can upgrade to a really nice one and have this one as a back-up/for travel so you don't risk the TSA breaking/ruining/stealing your good one.

I used that same one for quite awhile and now it's my travel one because I upgraded to a GVP one like /u/iamsheriff suggested and like her, I am happy to help out if I can!

I have a Remington Pearl curling wand. I bought it for less than $50 CAD at Wal Mart. I've had it for about six years now and it's still going strong, heats up quickly, does a nice job.

Mine is like this but it's older and not tapered:

Sure, it's actually super straight forward. I use a cheap curling wand I ordered off Amazon [(this guy right here)](https://www.amazon.com/Remington-Curling-Technology-Controls-CI9538/dp/B0050QJHTO/ref=sr_1_3_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1525389153&sr=8- 3&keywords=remington+curling+wand). Basically, I blow dry my hair straight, part my hair in the middle down to the nape of my neck, and loosely tie one of the parted halves of my hair so it's out of the way. Then, starting from the back, I take 1-1.5 inch sections of hair and wrap each section around the curling wand, holding for 5 seconds or so. I usually start curling from the mid-shaft down for a more relaxed look. Once each section of hair has had it's turn with the curling wand, I run my fingers through it to loosen the curls and again, give it a softer, relaxed look. Then I lock the style with some hairspray and bam, that's it. Usually the curls hold for 2-3 days and I keep it looking somewhat alive with dry shampoo.

Happy belated birthday and thanks for this awesome contest! I am a beekeeper and I love bees so much so I bought this awesome bee costume last year for Halloween. The wings light up and everything!!! However, last year Hurricane Sandy hit (I live in NJ really close to to shore) and Halloween kind of got canceled so I didn't get to really show it off. Here's a picture of me wearing it anyways right before the power went out and we boarded the windows haha. And here is another. Anyways this year will be MUCH better so I am going to try again with it! Here is my top wanted item: a hair curler so I can look extra pretty this year :) What are you going to be?

Here’s one that’s pretty similar to the one i use! My hair has such a hard time holding curls with traditional curling irons, but the wands somehow make my hair hold MUCH better!

For the curls in the picture I would recommend the larger 1-1.5 inch wand, but you could also get the smaller one and brush the curls out! They might be a little tighter of a curl to begin with.

Salamat po sa mga nagsuggest ng curling wand in my last post. I ended up ordering a Remington off of Amazon, tho. Mej sketch kasi ako pag walang reviews yung isang item.

It also ended up being cheaper than the good ones available in our market.

I love the pink Remington 1”-1.5” curling wand. Perfect for beachy waves and it’s lasted me for years! And it’s only $23 on amazon :)
