Source video on Vimeo (about 1m 45s long).
Another video of good general rallying on YouTube.
Good sense of speed through a narrow forest, you can hear the frantic pacenotes (the things the "passenger" is telling the driver so the driver knows what's up ahead), you can see the driver's current gear on the dashboard, and a bit of the driver's footwork. This might help you understand what driving in rally is like.

And if you want to try rallying virtually, check out Richard Burns Rally! It's still considered one of the best rally simulators to date, and it's only about US$5 on Amazon. It was released in 2004, so most computers should be able to run it.
If you decide to buy Richard Burns Rally, considered looking at game mods. A group of modders in France recently released RSRBR 2013 which adds new cars, new tracks, and improved physics. This may need a little more powerful computer to run.
I bought a Logitech Driving Force GT steering wheel on eBay for about $85. It's a great starter wheel with nice force feedback that will help you feel your car better as you drive.
Come by /r/simracing, too!

Of course you also have the NFS: Shift games and the Dirt games, which are pretty realistic and fun. But not quite sims.
The one thing that Forza and GranTurismo have over PC sims is the large selection of licensed cars. The PC is lacking in that regard, although PC sims offer superior physics. Probably because PC sims are mostly done by smaller teams who are car enthusiasts, the physics are great, but they don't have the funds or the team size to get all of the licenses and model all those cars. Sony and MS of course want to keep their games exclusive to help sell consoles.
Project CARS looks to be the most promising IMO.
Cannot even convey how good this game is... but you're probably looking for something newer and a little less simulator-like. Dirt 3 was very good, and it's more than just rally.
You'll need the whole game. It's available on Amazon.com, but only the cd version. I don't believe it's ever been released as a downloadable game.
> i wana get a G27..but im scared i might not use it much
I been telling myself this for years.. Mainly because my love of racing sim's is limited to rally titles like Richard Burns Rally and WRC(Steam game but handling is super easy compared to RBR, but the PC port isn't that great, takes a bit of tweaking to even get 60FPS)..
(Non-Steam Game) If you're into rally car racing, check out Richard Burns Rally. Only $5!
Also, check out /r/simrally for their weekely rally!
I used to participate with my n00b stick (Xbox 360 wired), but my times were horrid compared to those with the G27.. I'll buy one some day :D

Only copies of the game on UK amazon.
I got it off Amazon but its a physical copy :/
I bought a disc copy from Sold Out Software via Amazon. But... it doesn't appear to be terribly well-stocked at the moment.
