Here's a really good anthropology book that follows homeless heroin addicts, I found it an absolutely fascinating look at homeless drug culture, in case you're interested.

Righteous Dopefiend by Bourgois is a great read. The photography is excellent, as well.

I'm willing to bet you, and the dozen or so other people who are claiming "well i pay X so you're wrong!" have never even done any research, let alone gone to a post-secondary institution. You know who probably knows the most random facts about drug prices across the US? I'll give you a tip, its not a drug dealer or user. Its likely some guy at a university studying drug culture, or possibly someone employed by the US government. Theres people out there who are paid or dedicate their life to studying and researching this kind of stuff. People who survey addicts and test drug purity across the nation. Fuck, theres even people who have been studing the day to day life of heroin addicts for decades. If for some reason you think that joe "I know a guy who sells coke" smith is a better source for drug prices then the research that goes into drug culture and economy, you are insane.
