There probably isn't a way to over dye an orange to make a yellow as you can't really go lighter by adding more color. You would need to use a bleach or dye remover like This. However with polyester and cotton that could be a problem. You may just remove the dye from the cotton and the polyester would stay the same color. if you have a tiny bit that you can cut away from a seam on the inside, testing a few things would be a good idea. I agree about the chlorine bleach.
Rit dye remover. It was made for this exact purpose. You can probably find it at any big-box store for less. If that isn't enough, the 541 Method is the typical "last resort" for fucked up white tees.
Have you tried fabric dye remover? Looks cheap and seems like a reasonable place to start.

Get some of this. Dye remover. The blue stain is excess dye from the jeans since she hadn't washed them yet.

RIT makes a color remover powder that might help, but if you've got a shirt that's 100% natural fiber, there's some risk that, like bleach, it will wash too much color out of your garment and leave you with the opposite problem that you have right now. (You could, of course, re-dye the garment in a color thats closer to the one you're after, but you're at risk of starting a never ending cycle towards perfection.)
There may be other options, or you may be in a spot where, without holding the shirt you're wearing up against the image, nobody (including you) will be able to tell the difference. (Humans aren't very good at color memory; if colors are in the same family, we tend to assume that they are the same color.)

Probably dying clothes. There is a dye remover you can try, but the issue is that if the dye took to the tub, the finish is likely ruined from age, maltreatment, whatever. Give this stuff a try though. You'll want make sure and let it soak.
