I love Robert the Bruce's story but didn't like this movie. Not sure why but I think it felt rushed and took too many liberties with actual history. Someone really needs to make a TV show about this time period. It's the only way to do it right.

BTW... if you really want to know the history you should read this book -- Robert the Bruce: King of Scots

I reads like fiction in places and that makes me wonder if it is completely accurate but it's one the best books I've ever read.

Well, it's not fiction, and I haven't read it myself, but I have heard that Robert The Bruce, King of the Scots by Ronald McNair Scott is a very good account of the same time period you're talking about, but not focused on William Wallace.
