I am using this bag from Amazon.

It just fits all of my gear and I strap the leg pads to the top/outside using the shoulder belt. The outside pockets are smaller than they look. I use them for little things like laces, tape, etc. I've never tried, which I just put in the main pocket. It also fits into my trunk, a Honda civic, and the leg pads I can also fit into my trunk separately.

But I will caution that it really just fits my gear (minus the leg pads). I had to experiment with how to pack the back to maximize the space, but for the price, I can't complain.

Edit: It is amazon, so you can always buy it, try packing your gear, and if it doesn't work for you, just return it.

Yes, branded dive bags get more attention and are stolen more often depending where you dive to. My LDS actively discourages anyone from buying a special purpose dive bag.

I use the largest and cheapest duffel bag I could find (240lt) is completely black and I never had an issue with it. It's also rather light, some like this: https://www.amazon.com/Rockland-Luggage-Rolling-Duffle-X-Large/dp/B003EZXP5U/ but mine is simpler and looks even cheaper.

I always carry my regs and computer in the carry on. Never had issues by doing so and the airline doesn't look what you take on it. It's airport control who will notice and ask, but there is no regulation against regulators in the plane. I leave my mask in the dive bag though.

I prefer duffle bags with wheels myself.

i was able to put my tent, air mattress, sleeping bag, and backpack in one when i flew to magnaball. get a cheap headlamp and an external usb battery to charge your phone.
