I know it from Rogue Warrior, "The more you sweat in training the less you'll bleed in combat."

I posted this on the other thread but wanted to send it to you in case you didn't read it. Edited here to be clearer

I completely forgot about the story of Richard Marcinko

"Marcinko maintains that he was the subject of a witch-hunt for his work with Red Cell and that the fraud committed revealed the weaknesses of military security. Marcinko has detailed his arrest and confinement in the last chapters of his autobiography."

His work in the SEALs was groundbreaking and furthered our counter-terrorism knowledge today. When he got out he formed the SOS Temps which was run by himself and some of the people from his autobiography and fictional stories thereafter. The SOS Temps always reminded me of a real life A-Team. {Cue the Music}

As you can see, even for people who are military heros, this can happen. Take heart and know that getting through this is what is most important.

If anything, I would like you to get that biography sometime. Especially if the reason your are in this mess is bullshit (mentioned in your original post), because he's thoughts could buoy your spirits right about now.

Rogue Warrior.
If nothing else it was an interesting book. It was shocking he didn’t even change names. Link to the book if anyone’s interested. https://smile.amazon.com/Rogue-Warrior-Richard-Marcinko/dp/0671795937/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1549672019&sr=8-1&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_QL65&keywords=rogue+warrior+by+richard+marcinko&dpPl=1&dpID=51%2BN3eirYDL&ref=plSrch

Anyone who's interested in the history of SEAL team 6 should read Rogue Warrior! Written by the guy that essentially founded the unit and had to deal with all the political bullshit that came along with it.

KISS is a running theme in Richard Marcinko's books.

What I enjoyed as a teenager, and among the easier reads are Ender's Game, Animal Farm, and Ringworld. Less 'literature' are Rogue Warrior, X-Wing: Rogue Squadron, and Ice Station. Actually, I've never read a book by Matt Reilly (Ice Station) that I didn't finish in one day - they're hard to put down.

Any relationship to Richard Markinko and his Red Cell experience that he talks about in his book.

Article behind paywall, so unable to read.

I'm wrapping up reading Rogue Warrior by Richard Marcinko. Very much worth the read. I'm over 3/4 of the way in, and it made me realize that if I could do it over again, I think I'd have at least given BUD/S a shot rather than go Army like I did.

A bunch of years ago I read Rogue Warrior by Richard Marchinko where he talked about the hayday of the Seals and all the badassery therein. Within the Seal culture is there a hero that as a group you guys look up to?

Also, I have to disagree on the HK 416 recommendation, because it totally sucks in Battlefield 3, FAMAS all the way.

Thanks!

I'd say most SF's guys would take the cake when this question is asked. I can't remember the guys name, nor the book title, but the guy who started SEAL team 6 would probably be the best answer.

Richard Marcinko, Rogue Warrior

Here's a brief spoiler alert but not really. You have heard of seal team 6 who killed bin laden. He is the one that created seal team 6.
