My old boy has had two surgeries for this and a couple of emergency urine extractions using a catheter. Please follow the diet recommendations, is all I'll tell you.
I'm not sure if you get this where you live, but my vet asked me to give him only Royal Canin Urinary SO, you could ask your vet about it. He hasn't had a problem since that. Just unhappy about not getting table scraps anymore.
