You could try something like these. They have other types of these too, so just look around for "furniture wall straps."

You just secure one end to the furniture piece top with screws and then you secure the other end to a stud (make sure you get it into a stud and not just drywall) in the wall. You shouldn't have to shift the cupboard far to either side to find a stud, if it is not right near one already.

Furniture safety straps. One end is secured to a structural part of your furniture and the other end is secured to a wall stud (don't just screw it to drywall, that wont hold. It has to be screwed to a stud). Use multiple strapsif needed.
They're like $5.00 USD. I don't want to hear a any excuses for not using these if you have kids.
