I buy Sally Hansen Creme Bleach at Walgreens or CVS and follow the instructions included. I get two full 2-arm applications out of each box. You wipe your arms with a provided witch hazel solution, then allow it to dry while you mix the bleach and activator. You spread the mixture on your arms (in a well-ventilated room!) and set a timer for ~8 minutes. You wipe away a patch of it to see the hair color beneath and decide if it needs more time. Then you wipe off the bleach and wash your arms with cool (not warm) water and gentle soap. I follow with a fragrance-free lotion. Then you're done! I wash the cup and spatula that are provided and save them in the box with the rest of the activator and bleach for the next use.

It's really simple. The timing is the only part that requires any skill. The longer it stays on, the lighter the hair will get, but the higher chance you'll have irritation/burns. There is a sweet spot for your skin and hair. You'll get to know what yours is after trying it a few times. Ultimately, the stakes are pretty low - the worst I've ever accidentally hurt myself with it is a little bit of redness that went down after a couple hours. Next time I took 30 seconds off each arm and was fine. If you decide to do different parts of your body (face, legs, etc.) remember that all those skin types will have their own "sweet spot."
