> 512GB is currently the largest capacity available.

There's 1TB cards available. Crazy expensive though.

Great deals on these cards. That 512GB will probably be $50 or less by black friday.

Switching to 1TB microSDXC cards (5 g mass), you could ship 20 EB of data and bandwidth would be 1.286 TB/s for a 180 day trip.

The storage would probably cost around $4 billion (or 2 SLS launches).

They do, but it's gonna cost you $450 on Amazon

Not seeing the same problem you're seeing.

This is a pretty big price drop, it's by far an all time low on amazon

u/zero16lives · 3 pointsr/NintendoSwitchDeals

I didn't even notice that. Here is ScanDisk's for 300 currently.

U3 rated cards supposedly are, and many of them that are designed to handle the throughput will have an additional V-rating on them. So for example, a card rated U3-V30 promises it can handle sustained write speeds of 30Mbps, which is (typically) fast enough for 4K video. The current highest rating is V90, which would even handle 8k video with no problems. but you'll also note that you pay a premium for those extra speeds.

All that said, a signal chain is only as fast as its slowest link, so if the camera can't save the video fast enough due to some other bottleneck, a fast card may still not give you the performance you're hoping for.

You can buy the nail-sized storage monster directly at the SanDisk online store for $450. The card is also available for Amazon Prime delivery in European countries like Spain, United Kingdom, or Germany. At the time of publication, the card is listed on Amazon’s U.S. site but it says currently unavailable. The price for the Extreme version of the card is about $585 (523 euro) in Europe.

Sandisk and Samsung Evo Select on amazon are ~$90 for 512GB. Both sold by amazon.

  • Samsung

  • Sandisk

the only option above that is a Sandisk Extreme 1tb for $440. And no, that is not a typo.

there are other cards with 400gb and 500gb sizes, but the 512 is definitely a better bang for your buck.

On my phone so sorry for the garbage editing.

I know it's been said that up to 2TB should be fine for the Switch (and I know why this is, I work IT...) But as we all know a lot of things that -should- work or do a certain thing don't always do exactly that. (Last phone had issues with MicroSD cards 512GB and up...)

Just a small confirmation/relief to those interested.

-Why?-

Because I'm lazy, I don't enjoy swapping cards and I enjoy some games to be always ready to go (ex. Smash). I have a physical library of 42+ games but even so I filled my 512GB micro SD card...

Given SD Card:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07P9W5HJV/

(While checking it seems to be on sale..., Four days after purchasing it for the $439.99 price (price ATT: $389.99), orz)

Throwaway since I don't fish for (possible) easy karma on my main account.

Obligatory Weltall tax.

Yes D2 works. No you can not save game saves to the SD card, there is no write function with the device. I have a clone with 128gb SD card and love it. When 1TB SD cards come way down in price I will get one of those. And yes they are totally compatible with the device.

Not yet, but that's the thing. If they can fit 1TB of data on a MicroSD card, why are ram sticks as large as they are, for a fraction of the GBs? And CPU caches... We're still measuring those in Megabytes!

Things can and probably will get a lot smaller soon.

u/AllGamer · 1 pointr/razerphone

nah, I already have a 512 GB Samsung micro SD, planning to upgrade to the 1TB SanDisk https://www.amazon.com/SanDisk-Extreme-microSDXC-Memory-Adapter/dp/B07P9W5HJV

u/yawya · -7 pointsr/space

so are you responsible for the huge-ass SSR on JWST that can't even hold a terabyte?

what the heck!?! they have 1TB micro SDs now...
