It's removable so makes it easy to clean. As for the wand, I have it plugged into this timer( https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B0184CG9K0/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 ) so that I can have it turn on and then off for a little bit... over and over again.
