Seiko SGF204 is $133 or the Seiko SNXJ89 if you can find one

I don't think it's a Rolex -- note the wide day/date window in OP's pic.

It's closer to something like this Seiko, although I don't think that's quite right, either.

Edit: lower-left pic appears to show fluting on bezel.

Quartz:

Seiko SGF204 (Amazon / Jomashop / Long Island Watch)

Casio MTP-1302PSG-7AVEF (AmazonUK / ebay?)

Automatic:

Seiko 5 SNXJ92 (Amazon)

Seiko 5 SNXJ89 (ebay?)

Seiko 5 SNXJ90 (ebay?)

Orient President (Amazon)

Tudor Style (go to a Tudor authorized dealer)

Rolex Datejust (go to a Rolex authorized dealer)

If you aren't familiar with quartz vs automatic yet, then read up on it real quick. But, in short, if you just want a watch as a fashion accessory, then stick with quartz, but if you have an interest in watches as more than just an accessory, then maybe consider an automatic once you fully understand what that actually entails

Here's a quartz two-tone homage I found on amazon and here's an automatic

Seiko makes a watch that looks very similar and should be much higher quality, start with this.

There are a host of other watches that look like this, it's a homage to a rolex datejust.

Stick with established brands like Citizen or Seiko. It's not a good use of your money IMO, $200+ for a no-name microbrand that uses a basic Citizen movement anyway. If you really love their designs, then that's fine, but if you're looking for value, get a solar Seiko or Citizen Eco-drive.

The Citizen Stiletto series is very thin, with a minimalist and classic design, and low-maintenance due to the solar-powered movement.

If you're okay with something a little flashier, I personally can recommend this Seiko homage to the Rolex Datejust, which is still relatively understated due to how small and thin it is.

If neither of those appeal to you, go browse Amazon and Jomashop for an hour or two and find something you like. For $200, you can definitely do better than Nordgreen quality-wise.

If you're looking for an automatic, Seiko SNXJ90k gets pretty close. Discontinued but can still be found:

If you don't mind quartz, the Seiko SGF204 (SGF206 is all gold version) is also an option:

If you're OK with quartz, you could get this Seiko which is basically a Datejust homage. They also made an automatic version, I can't find the model number right now the SNJX90, but it's been discontinued for a while and they do command a bit of a premium.

I love the Tissot's, they are great quality and starting with a quartz watch is the way to go in my opinion, and if he wants to learn more about watches than he can start getting into automatics. I love how the Vinceros look, but they are fairly cheap chinese watches from a technical standpoint and their branding adds 100$ to their real price, so I would stay away from there, but as a starter watch it is quite nice looking.

Also, I love how these seiko's look, they have a metal bracelet, but it is much easier to buy leather straps than it is to find metal bracelets, so having both would be nice:

It looks a lot like a Rolex Datejust (and after a quick check in his subreddit, it is indeed a Datejust), but I'm having trouble finding the exact reference. I'm watching in 2160p and still can't get a great look at it lol Might be close to this guy, but with a leather strap and gold accents:

This is the absolute closest I could find that isn't a straight up clone (though the color of the dial may be off and I can't tell if the numerals or indeces are anywhere close):

Edit: Thanks for the gold!

I'm really knew to watches and I've been looking around at so many options for the past week to see what could catch my eye. So far I've grown to adore some of Seiko's watches, because they're considerable in price (for my budget) and also seem to have a decent amount of structure behind it all.

I wanted to ask on some recommendations and suggestions based on the ones I found to my liking, if I do purchase a watch it would be my first purchase ever so I'm very hesitant and always second guessing myself. Feel free to persuade me if you're knowledgeable.

The four that intrigued me:

SKA366 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B001BM8GFM/_encoding=UTF8?coliid=I23J5B9YT5XEQO&colid=1FZVOEUYEK1ZN

SNAA30 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B001BMFBXC/_encoding=UTF8?coliid=IIRHMSMPQYLLW&colid=1FZVOEUYEK1ZN

SGF206 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00068TK7K/_encoding=UTF8?coliid=I14S2DWFALNGCM&colid=1FZVOEUYEK1ZN

SGF204 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00068TK70/_encoding=UTF8?coliid=I3MRHZFUF41J20&colid=1FZVOEUYEK1ZN

Because of my hesitation I am heavily learning towards the 206 or 204 as they have a pretty big price drop compared to the other two, but please let me know your thoughts on these watches and some tips for a brand new buyer like me.

Edit: The SNE368 also just grabbed my attention. https://www.amazon.com/Seiko-SNE368-Analog-Display-Japanese/dp/B00MBB18HA/ref=cts_wa_1_vtp?pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_p=2897711222&pf_rd_r=W9V5QAWKKSHQMHMET1TC&pd_rd_wg=e9biG&pf_rd_s=desktop-detail-softlines&pf_rd_t=40701&pd_rd_i=B00MBB18HA&pd_rd_w=sz9Cf&pf_rd_i=desktop-detail-softlines&pd_rd_r=W9V5QAWKKSHQMHMET1TC&_encoding=UTF8

Seiko SGF204 Stainless Steel Two Tone Watch is a gorgeous watch that is durable. I’ve had one for a few years and love it. My watch face is black unlike this one though

These are as close as they get: 1 2 3 4

It's exactly 2 and 3, just without the ridges on the gold bit.

u/Fra00 · 1 pointr/malefashionadvice

Hi guys, I am looking for a similar homage to Datejust (jubilee and White dial + two Tone).

Let's start saying that there are really similar copies like the ones from Burei or Parnis but they are Chinese.

So After some research I found two interesting models:

SEIKO SNXJ90 (automatic): Looks really cool, the crown is at 4 instead of 3 and gold plating looks good (obviously not real gold).

SEIKO SGF204 (quartz): Same design as the other, obviously without "seiko 5" logo.

Pics here.

So, I would use this watch not everyday. And with that being said, an automatic doing so will stop in a day. While a Quartz would keep the time neverthless. At the same time, I really like the automatic for the Way it moves and the mechanic inside of it.

also consider that they are both discontinued (snxj90 for sure) so It's really hard to find. I found snxj90 only on eBay for 300usd from Indonesia while sgf204 for 190usd instead (from Amazon.com so import taxes included. Yes, I am in Italy and I only found these watches in USA so there will be tax to pay.

There is also another one from Bulova, known as Bulova Super Seville Two Tone, tought if it starts with 600usd which is too much for me. ALso I am not a fan of those fake diamonds in the dial, then....

What would you reccomend at this Point? Thank you.

The Seiko SGF204 can be had for $134 on Amazon if you're willing to stretch your budget just a bit.
