So far the mophie or the Belkin wireless charger is certified or recommended (thus, the higher pricing?) .

But the other Qi wireless charger are so far so good.

EDIT: I used to get the flat wireless charging but changed over to the stand like the one in the link, cause it allows me to charge and use my phone, at the same unlocking via Face ID.

Might I consider a Qi charging station that lifts the phone to a standing position?

If I sat my phone like that on my desk, my face should be in pretty perfect view. I wouldn't mind buying 3 of these for the bedroom, computer desk, and office desk.

Look into an inexpensive dual-coil standing charger. It automatically places the phone in the proper spot.

I do not have these issues with my wireless charging. I bought a Chinese charging stand off Amazon for $19 and it works perfect. I don't have to move it around to get it to start charging. I can use it in portrait or landscape mode. It doesn't get hot either.

I've had it since I had the S7. I'll admit that I rarely have to use it with the S8 Plus. I take it off my charger at home at 8am and by 6pm I'm still at 70%. I only have to use it if I spend a lot of time in the basement here at work where I don't get a strong cell signal and that drains the battery super quick, even with wifi calling.

Pretty much any of them will work. It just depends on how much you are willing to pay. If you can afford it, I would buy one of the wireless fast chargers such as this one.

Nice work! This looks great! I just ordered a carriage plate that will hopefully have me back up and printing soon.

That said, just a quick heads up that I had an identical looking charger I used to use next to my bed, until one night I woke up and smelled burning plastic and realized it had melted into my night stand. I switched back to a wired charger thereafter. I still use wireless on my desk and other places I'm observing it, but be careful while you're sleeping!

I know my case is likely fairly rare. But these things as overnight chargers freak me out now.

I've actually not connected my wireless chargers to fast chargers purposefully to charge slower as I have them setup on my desk and bedside, where all I need is a trickle charge.

One thing to bear in mind about wireless chargers.. the phone won't be using Quick Charge for variable voltage/current 'gentle' charging. Battery temps are higher with inductive charging.

And the charger does not shut itself off @ 100% as many assume.. it will keep going until the battery controller terminates charging, which is usually a couple full hours beyond terminal battery voltage (4.36 on the G6), as will the wired charger. I wouldn't make a habit of leaving a QC phone on a charger overnight, wired or wireless. Kinda defeats the purpose of the battery-preserving QC tech.

Another thing about a wireless charger.. it won't increment the charge cycle count, which is the key indicator of battery age/lifetime. At least it doesn't on my G6, I expect that's generally the case.

Charges my S8 only slightly slower than QC3 wired.

There is nothing to be for Apple to do better than every other company despite being directed by the hand of god and completely infallible. It is a standard. The in phone component is not designed by Apple.

Sure you can get cheap charging pads that will melt when your phone is on it, but you can also get cheap charging pads (with "fast charge") that really don't produce any heat anyway.

This is the one I have a couple of now and it and the phone never noticably heat up. With Fast Charge AC plug/Without. I always see it on sale like this.

I've had it for about four months and haven't seen any cons with it. I use my work computer to charge it, UT you can easily buy an AC adapter as well. It's not included.

Here's the options. Either your case is messing it up, the charger is faulty, or it's not centered properly on the charger. I use a Seneo Wireless Charger that I bought way back for the Note 7. Still works fine, but I do have issues if its not centered properly.

I facetime my girlfriend a lot and it's a perfect way to charge my phone and facetime at the same time without having to touch it. Allows me to browse my computer while facetiming (I do not have a mac).

Also, it's incredibly convenient to just pick things up and put it back down at a set location. I use wireless charging when I'm at work and I come to my desk.

Sure the charging itself doesn't save that much time. But the fact that you can just drop your phone on the charger means I am more likely to charge my phone. It's just for the convenience. There are benefits for both types of chargers and yes, a downside to wireless chargers is that you lose the capability of charging while browsing/playing games/etc.

They're not for everything, but for the vast majority of people they're pretty damn useful in a lot of different ways.
