No, and like I said it's the MSRP. Nobody marked it up before the discount after Sennheiser put their price on it. This is also the cheapest it's ever been and, if it's anything like my experience with Sennheiser before (which goes back a long way), close to as cheap as it will ever be. Maybe another 10 bucks off on Boxing day somewhere but I plan to spend Boxing Day back home, recovering from a Turkey coma, not dealing with boxing day deal crowds at a store.

Do you people just assume everything's a scam or something? Like I work in marketing myself and that Amazon thing where they mark up an item then discount it is a lot less common than you think it is, especially for name brand electronics.

I can't say enough good things about my Sennheiser 4.50's that I use with my aging Nexus 6p. The 4.50's are a bit above your budget, but they also make the 4.40's that don't have active noise cancelling that have amazing reviews, and are within your price range. Have always loved Sennheiser cans.

I'm not an audiophile by any means but I tried the HD 4.50 at Best Buy and thought they were pretty good. I think they're a fantastic choice if you're on a budget for a good noice cancelling headphone. They've been price around $200-250 on Amazon for the past 2-3 months. Cheapest it's been was $130 a long time ago (posted on this sub).

That said, the HD 4.40 is also on sale for $109.95, but I don't know if this is a good deal as I didn't follow the price trend.

The Skullcandy Crusher Wireless come in at around 110 USD before tax on amazon right now. Looking for sturdier well reviewed headphones from name brands for similar prices I see:
115 USD Plantronics BackBeat GO 810
120 USD Audio-Technica ATH-SR6BTBKK
100 USD Pioneer SE-MS7BT-K
100 USD Sennheiser HD 4.40
Plantronics BackBeat GO 600
80 USD JLAB Omni
90 USD TREBLAB Z2
100 USD Anker Soundcore Space NC

For much cheaper but with similar plastic folding hinges there's:
55 USD JBL E55BT

For a bit more with an all metal construction:
150 USD Jlab Audio Flex

u/smurfhunter99 · 3 pointsr/WindowsMR

For $100, I'd recommend this pair of sennheisers. Audiophile level headsets will get you a lot further than a gaming headset, and I have found they are way more comfortable and durable. These also eliminate the need for a cable completely, because they're bluetooth, and they work just fine with windows MR, but have the cable option if you prefer. If you want to step up, the 4.50BT model adds noise cancelling for $160 currently, which is very nice, or the 4.20s sound just as good in a smaller package without bluetooth. I've recommended these sets to my friends and I've been using the 4.50 for over a year and it works very well.

u/Ralthooor · 3 pointsr/ireland

I have these and they are pretty good. They also fold up and take up very little space in my bag.

Sennheiser HD4.40, make sure your source devices support the aptX codec

u/LorenzoDalati · 2 pointsr/HeadphoneAdvice

googled your earbuds and there is a wireless version of them for roughly 40 bucks

u/ArtIsWeird · 2 pointsr/headphones

The Jabra Move are pretty good imo. Nice sound and durability.

Not much isolation though.

There are also these by Sennheiser

u/Vliger2002 · 2 pointsr/headphones

That being said, my first thought (on a budget) is the Sennheiser HD 4.40 BT.

u/identikitten · 2 pointsr/headphones

Budget - $300 CAD / $225 USD, willing to go a little higher if needed

Source - My phone mostly, a google pixel xl

Requirements for Isolation - I'll mostly be using these at home so isolation isn't super important

Preferred Type of Headphone - Definitely wireless, but I don't know if I want on-ear or over-ear. I'll be wearing these while doing stuff like cooking or cleaning my apartment. Would over-ear be too bulky to use in those situations?

Preferred tonal balance - I don't really know what this means, I'm sorry lol. I listen to some bass-y stuff, but I also love stuff like Radiohead and heavy metal.

Past headphones - I've only ever used >$10 earbuds

What would you like to improve on from your set-up - I want a decent pair of wireless headphones so I can listen to music while walking around doing stuff at home, without being tied to my phone. I was originally looking at getting a pair of Beats Solo 3, but after reading some reviews, I got the impression that Beats don't have the best sound quality... so I'm wondering what else I could get in my price range.

Location? Canada

Additional note: I live with my SO, so I'd prefer closed-back headphones with little sound leakage.

I found these Sennheiser HD 4.40 wireless headphones, but again, I'm wondering if over-ear is the right choice for me if I'm going to be wearing these while walking around.

Thanks in advance!!

u/fpsfreak · 2 pointsr/hometheater

Err, Bluetooth headsets? They have volume control nob on them. I know you already have a set but seems like you're going to have to purchase additional hardware/converters/amplifiers to make them work. Put them on the market place and buy a pair of BT ones.

Here's a quick example I pulled off amazon. There are plenty good options out there.

Edit: Spelling.

They have these used like new within your budget. Don’t think you’ll find anything better for 60 dollars!

u/nagas3000 · 2 pointsr/HeadphoneAdvice

Well I haven't heard anything on both of these headphones nor I have read reviews, but in that price range 0 recommended options. these, these, and these, and these, and these and these are probably the only your budget options which users have noted to like, with the best being the last 2.

u/SprJohn · 2 pointsr/bodybuilding

Voted one of the best under 100 dollar headphones

u/GenghisKha1206 · 2 pointsr/audio

Thank you. That is half of my budget. Just to double check. Are these the ones that you are referring to? https://www.amazon.com/Sennheiser-HD-4-40-Headphones-BT/dp/B01MSZSJE9/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1523952662&sr=1-1&keywords=sennheiser+hd+4.40

EDIT: Unfortunately, a good amount of the reviews mention that the ear coverings are small, so I will look for a different pair due to that.

I bought Sennheiser HD 4.40-BT after lots and lots of research and I can confidently say that you can go for this.

Sound Quality - I find it excellent and clear, there is good bass and the bluetooth range from the phone is pretty good as well.

Gym Use - I haven't tried while running but no issues when you lift weights.

Durability - Seems durable. Can't say without using for long but definitely doesn't feel cheap or inferior quality.

Battery Backup - Excellent. They mentioned it lasts for 20 hours. I usually listen it for 2-3 hours in a day and pretty much lasts for at least 10 days.

Finally the convenience factor is so much better with Bluetooth headset that I am surprised that I didn't consider it way before.

If you are in Bangalore, there is a official Sennheiser store in Cunningham Road, you can give it a try there before buying online.

u/meandrunkR2D2 · 1 pointr/GalaxyS7

For when I'm at the desk I use Sennheiser HD4.40 BT. When at the gym I use these soundpeats and they sound great for a "cheap" pair of bluetooth headphones. Even though they don't look comfy, they are and they stay in my ear and I barely notice them when jumping, running, lifting when in the gym. Sound quality wise, they aren't far off from the more expensive Sennheiser's I use.

u/aLEXANDERhsTEVENS · 1 pointr/NintendoSwitch

Is there a adaptor/"dongle" item that would make these headphones work as a Fortnite headset? In handheld mode? In docked mode?

u/sgtfuzzy92 · 1 pointr/headphones

Amazon US now has the HD 4.40 BT for $99.99.

u/BRINGMEDATASS · 1 pointr/buildapcsales

Looking for a new pair of headphones. They don't have to have the best sound quality ever but I don't want to compromise it too much. Have my nice Sennheiser monitor headphones at home for that experience. I'll mostly use them at work, when traveling, and at the gym (elliptical but no running).

I'm currently considering Shure SE215 but it's at the height of my budget but my friend assures me I'll love them. I had a similar pair made by Anker but they fit terribly and didn't get nearly loud enough. I'm also looking at Sennheiser HD 4.40 since I'm a fan of the brand but I worry about them being too bulky and annoying while traveling. Lastly, I'm also considering the Cowin KY02 as I like the design and idea or being able to throw them in my pocket with the case and have them charge however I'm worried that the sound quality will be garbage. I'm also down for any other suggestions.

Thanks!

Beats by dre are the lowest quality "premium" headphones in terms of build and performance. You can buy Senheiser makes similar over the head style that are wireless. Beats By Dre always ranks at the bottom, when compared to other makers that make similar head phones. The options below are example of Solo 3's similar headphones. As far as good gym headphones, I'd say no... Any over the ear/cupped ear type headphones will trap moisture, and get stinky.

  • Option 1
  • Option 2

  • If you're hell bent on Beats By Dre, enjoy buying the a Kia priced as a Mercedes, when you could have bought a Mercedes for the same price.
u/refreshnamesuggested · 1 pointr/IndianGaming

You can go for the Mi Super Bass Wireless Headphones. They are cheap but the built quality and sound is not that great. But according to your requisite, this should be serviceable. Plus, this has a Mic

If you have, some money laying around, I would suggest Sennheiser HD 4.40-BT Bluetooth Headphones. This much better than the Mi one but out of you budget.

You can also go the Amzon Renewed Sennheiser HD 4.40 Bluetooth Headphones, this is well under you budget but I never had the opportunity to order a renewed electronic so I can't say about the quality so look out for that and maybe ask on Reddit itself.

PS: This has a mic too. Both of them have mics.

u/SeefKroy · 1 pointr/headphones

Are Sennheiser HD440BTs a good pair of bluetooth headphones for the price? I've also had Status CB-1 and an adapter recommended to me.

u/FluffehPanda · 1 pointr/headphones

Budget - 100$ USD

Source - iPhone

Requirements for Isolation - Somewhat isolating, wearing them walking to class

Will you be using these Headphones in Public? - Yes

Preferred Type of Headphone - Over or on ear.

Preferred tonal balance - Balanced / no prefrence

Preferred Music - Rap, hip-hop, R&B, pop

Location - US

I know very little about headphones. I'm okay with the sound of my Apple earbuds currently, but I want to go wireless and am looking for headphones that will be more isolating in louder spaces without sound leaking out.

Edit: Currently looking at Sennheiser HD 4.40 how much more am I paying for the bluetooth?

You might check out the Sennheiser HD 4.40's

They won't break your budget, they have bluetooth, and reviews say they have punchy bass.
The 4.50's feature noise canceling too if you're willing to pay another $50

Sorry I can't offer first-hand experience with them

i have only tried the sony extra bass and they sound like shit to me. muddy boomy . they feel great though. if you like that feel maybe look at these senneizers ive tried on the mdrzx77 and they felt like cheapo dogshit but didnt get a chance to test sound. audio technica is hailed as the best value cans, but never tried the bluetooth. id say get those or look at the urbanites or 4.40s

On night shifts, supporting the Aussies as usual. Fairly quiet evening though, so that's good, been watching Uncle on Netflix.

Got to return a set of headphones I got the other day when I finish, I got these the other day, and the sound quality is great, but they're shite for phone calls, background noise louder than the call audio itself.

Managed to secure a tidy £190 profit when I got my annual upgrade on my phone last week by paying £100 to keep the old device and selling it for £290, so I'll be using that towards a pair of Bose QC35 II's.

Skullcandy is definitely not a brand I'd go with. In my experience they're cheaply made and overpriced. I haven't tried this particular set, so YMMV.

Yep - bought them!

I was after a pair for gaming primarily - though I've concluded I'll use the wire when gaming (they come with a wire so you have the option) - there's a tiny moment of lag with bluetooth, no matter how premium the cans. When you play an album, lag behind your iPod doesn't matter as the song just plays. But gaming - yeah that tiny mismatch between pulling the trigger and hearing the shot is off-putting.

The 4.40s feel great to wear - wide soft pads that are snug without squeezing your ears (hate that!) parts all have that premium 'soft-coat' feel. And the sound quality is really good. Deep bass, with an isolated intimate space - if you want a wide-stage feel, these aren't for you.

I tried on every display set in the store and the others on my short list were: Beats EP's - (though NOT wireless) everyone likes to rag on Beats but these had a great build quality and sound. Also the Jabra Moves Those are two options Id recommend if you want to spend a bit less but the discount price from $249 to $187 was a factor!

only 'phones I thought were a lot better were the Bose QuietComforts - those sounded great and were really soft to wear, but pricey! The 4.40s were 90% as good for a third the price.

Im not that good at selling - particularly headphones as they are hugely subjective. I just went with what felt good, sounded good and was a good price! Check the reviews on Amazon for more detailed feedback!

u/ourvg · 1 pointr/bapcsalescanada

Looking for wireless headphones, are these any good? I'm not an audiophile or anything, just looking for something durable and comfy.

u/kamrabbit · 1 pointr/daddit

I embody the first line of the article, as I abhor Bose anything (too much focus on highs, not enough on lows). I generally keep a set of Sony’s MDR series (on 650BTs right now). They’re about half of what that Bose cost, and generally sound better for the money.

If you’re looking at Bose for $150, I’d recommend Sennheiser Bluetooth studio headphones. Same price, and I’ll vouch for their punch.

I’ll also recommend never leaving them unattended on the couch around your child for like 9 seconds, else you will be downgrading to Sony’s for the foreseeable future. >.<

Haven't used them for cardio so can't speak to how they'd hold on a treadmill but overall really great quality for the price

u/just1signup · 1 pointr/GooglePixel

Its a $100 so not that cheap. And my plan costs $55 but went up to $65 per month for only 2GB data, so not cheap either. It's not like we have alternatives to go for anyway. Other country's telecom services are waaaaay cheaper.

u/Farpafraf · 1 pointr/italy

u/Baldoor-E100 · 1 pointr/headphones

For under 100EUR I would definitelt stick to wired and go with the Audio Technica ATH M40X.

The problem here is that the S7 Edge has an insanely bad headphone output and is only able to output 360mV into a 16 Ohm load (~8 milli watt). The phone is absolute trash tier when it comes to the headphone output. And that alrady low output power is topped off by ,ore than 5 Ohm output impedance and 0.7%THD at full volume...absolute garbage

I recommend you buy a FiiO A1 headphone amplifier to go with the M40X. That would also fix your volume issue on the one more triple driver.

That would mean investing ~130EUR...the same price as a decent entry level Bluetooth headphone from Sennheiser.

IMHO the M40X sounds better than the HD4.40 and you won't run into battery/codec or lag issues.

Budget - $150-$250

Source - Desktop PC

Requirements for Isolation - Some to a lot

Will you be using these Headphones in Public? - No

Preferred Type of Headphone - Full-sized

Preferred tonal balance - Basshead, but I don't mind an overall balance

Past headphones - I have been using the Logitech G930 since 2012

Preferred Music - Drum and bass/electronic, punk rock

What would you like to improve on from your set-up - I have had to replace my G930 twice since I bought it five years ago (both were through my warranty) and while I have enjoyed it, I feel like I could get another headset of much superior quality, both in build and audio quality, with the $150-250 budget mentioned above. I would prefer to stick with a wireless headset while knowing that there will be some sacrifice in sound quality.

I'm currently thinking of going with either the Sennheiser 4.40s or the Sennheiser 4.50s but I'm also curious if anybody thinks there is a better option based on the above information. Thanks in advance for any help/input!

Meets most of your demands, but I believe the jack is angled, so maybe it'll be weird.

The only drawback is noise cancelling is passive and the headband can be uncomfortable for some during extended sessions (think more than 2 hours)

No, I have tiny ears and they hit mine. HD598 are probably the most comfortable cans I've ever used and I own about 9 pairs right now, including more expensive stuff (HD600). For wireless I hear the hd440s are good and theyre on sale $50 off right now. I don't mess with wireless headphones though unless they are $30 gym earbuds so I can't give actual opinions on them.
