Sennheiser PMX 680. I've run several ultras with them and they are comfortable for the long haul. They never slip around and the extra long cord isn't too bad either. The only complaint I would have is that if its raining water tends to get trapped between the headphone and your ear but thats probably the case for all in-ear style phones.

your search is done. trust me. i've had these for 2 years now and i go running every single day. i sweat like a mofo and the bass still holds up find in these and they are beaaaaautifully made!

I picked up these when they were on sale a few months ago for $26 and couldn't be happier.

(two others on this thread also recommended these already.)

I have these and love them. Work out 3x a week including running (6 miles) and weight lifting. Very durable and can handle the sweat storm I throw at them.

I use these (Sennheiser PMX 680) for running.
I love them, they never fall out, they are durable, bright, and the cord is in two pieces (I sometimes run with the second gen nano so I don't need a long cord).

u/chiquitatarita · 3 pointsr/running

Couldn't run without these two:

super duper sports bra www.enell.com

shoes for my flat feet Asics Gel Evolution 6

If I could only pick one, it would be the bra. I really don't think I could run without it!!!

headphones Love these, they stay in my ears and wipe off easily

I swear by these. They aren't sound canceling, but they are light and have the best quality sound I've heard. THey have newer versions which are good as well, but I specifically used this version in each half and full marathon because you don't notice them even for long distances

Lol, I just looked at that too, I was like "holy crap I made a lot of comment work today".

Also, those headphones look awesome.

I recently picked up a pair of Sennheiser PMX 680 Sports for exercising and they've been amazing. I'll use them to run and get around campus. I just love the fact that I can change the volume from a separate control and they're light too.

I used to be that idiot who bought skull candy headphones till I went to Japan and was amazed by the variety of headphones they would have in store. It would just be a straight up wall of headphones to try so I sat for about an hour plugging into different ones and trying them. I still need to find a decently price over-ear headphone for home use, but that can come later.

Jogging? I've been using these Sennheiser sports earphones for ages at the gym and they never fall out or get in the way, especially when coupled with an armband for your iPod/music player. Great sound as well.

u/wobo · 2 pointsr/running

These are by far the best I've used for running.
http://www.amazon.com/Sennheiser-PMX-680-Sports-Headphones/dp/B0034L3G8U
They are waterproof, stay in place and do not block out all sound so I can still hear a car or dog coming up from behind, and volume control on the chord.

u/DrKenshin · 2 pointsr/headphones

Check these Sennheisers out, they are on discount right now on amazon down to $35. There is also an iPhone compatible model, but it's more expensive and maybe unnecessary unless you really, really want to be skipping tracks; normal ones have volume control already. :) Hope it helps, cheers.

I'm currently using a pair of PMX 680 from Sennheiser.

They sound really clear and detailed. Nothing stellar or life-changing, but far above most "sports headphones" around. For 26 bucks they're a steal.

u/webbymcfooderson · 2 pointsr/Reformed

I have the same problem with earbuds. I picked up a pair of these on clearance when I was still riding my longboard regularly. Love them.

Hi,

I started running to compliment my hiking training. Now I do hiking to compliment my running training. I fell in love and was in much of the same boat as you are: where do I go from here?

I decided to do a half marathon to keep going. My first half is this Saturday and I followed (Hal Hidgon's novice training program)[http://www.halhigdon.com/halfmarathon/novice.htm].

Also, I had the same problems with headphones. I ended up getting these:

(Sennheiser PMX 680 Sports Earbud)[http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0034L3G8U/ref=ox_ya_os_product]

I can't vouch for them yet, because they're still being shipped, but there are a lot of good reviews.

u/ReluctantParticipant · 1 pointr/AdviceAnimals

I use these and love 'em.

u/BaksideAttak · 1 pointr/headphones

Ah - good information - didn't know they were for running. I've heard good things about The Sennheiser PMX 680. They're $35 on Amazon. I read a thread some time ago about running headphones... I'll try and find it again.

I personally hate IEMs while running because they always fall out, even when they're an over the ear style. I always resort to the ones that go behind the head and just cover the ear. I sacrifice some audio quality with it, but when my whole body is moving and I'm breathing heavily it's hard to pick out details anyway.

u/glyxbaer · 1 pointr/running

Sorry, endomondo, but I think I can contribute to the discussion ;)

It depends, I use a belt (Deuter Neo belt 2) if I wear my running shorts that have no pockets.

I don't like to wear these shorts on cold easy runs though, so I usually just have it in my shorts. No problems with my Galaxy Nexus.

If it's raining I take a sponge with me and place put it in there to avoid too much water on my phone..

As for the headphones: Sennheiser PMX 680. They have a good sound (for running at least) and a good grip. If I am in the city you can easily take them out on crosswalks without fighting the cords to much.

u/brodies · 1 pointr/loseit

I picked up these a while ago. They're really light, stay perfectly in place (even with sweat and rain), and are borderline waterproof (not saying that you should test them out in a full bathtub or anything, but they're designed to survive sweaty runners). They even have pretty decent sound quality (better than iPhone ear buds, but definitely worse than the pair I rock when I'm not running)!

There's a new version with a built-in mic and remote that works with the iPhone/iPod Touch, but it wasn't available when I got my pair, so I can't vouch for it.

u/returner00b · 1 pointr/audiophile

If you are riding bike a lot, I would advise against sealed IEMs. IT will block out too much noise and that can be dangerous.

Check these out, they sound tolerable but are fine for riding/running around town. http://www.amazon.com/Sennheiser-PMX-680-Sports-Headphones/dp/B0034L3G8U/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1341756385&sr=8-2&keywords=adidas+sennheiser

u/bit_inquisition · 1 pointr/running

I bought these Sennheisers. The cord is short and it works perfectly with my arm band (there's an extension for a waist-band). They also sound great.

u/crapuccino · 1 pointr/bicycling

I do two things:

  1. Use earphones that let in ambient noise. I use these ...
    http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0034L3G8U

  2. In the UK, we drive on the left, so I use Audacity to reduce the volume in my right ear on each track so I can better hear the traffic coming up on me (I use a little Sansa Clipp and it doesn't have a balance control).

    This works well for me.

I've got these sennheiser pmx680s. http://www.amazon.com/Sennheiser-PMX-680-Discontinued-Manufacturer/dp/B0034L3G8U. They work great never had any issues with them after running a couple 5ks or 3 years of working out in then. Lightweight and decent sound I'd say.

Sennheisers! I have these and they've been perfect over approx 20 races over the past year.

u/crataegus · 1 pointr/bicycling

Try these instead, then. They can break away.

u/1ddqd · 1 pointr/headphones

I have used these for a few months now. Even in rain and heavy sweat, they stay solidly in-ear.

edit for weird link placement

u/emceeret · 1 pointr/running

I have the Sennheiser PMX 680 Sports Earbud Headphones which I love. They never fall off my ears and are light enough to never cause trouble.

The only problem I've found is that my bangs can get fall in my face and it's hard to tuck them back when I'm wearing the headphones, but that's all I got.

u/agentargoh · 1 pointr/Fitness

They're ugly as all hell, but they sound great, are comfortable and are fairly cheap at $36.

Sennheiser PMX 680

They do go around the back of your head and get a little misplaced when doing bench, but it hasn't bothered me really

u/LouisvilleXV · 0 pointsr/running

As others have said, earbuds aren't ideal for running. Get something like these instead.

Sennheiser PMX 680 Sports Earbud Headphones.

It says they're discontinued by the manufacturer, but perfect workout headphones.
