I just grabbed a tube from work. It had a small crack at the end and was going to be thrown away. To me, that wasn't a problem given the end caps I made for it... I guess CF tubes this large in diameter are expensive...
This would work well. Just be careful cutting it because carbon fiber dust is pretty bad for you.
