The shoe is fine. Stop sticking your finger in there and buy some Shoe Goo.

I have had good results with Shoe GOO...I do it this way....

  1. pull tile down and set it down face-up, flat on the floor.
  2. slap down a golf ball sized gob of glue.
  3. Place the camera on top of the glue and smash the glue down into the porous board and weigh it down with something heavy (like a phone book or 4).
  4. walk away and come back 24 hours later.

This will PERMANENTLY stick those cams to the ceiling once you pop the tiles back in.

BONUS TIP!! Get yourself a toy crossbow and a ball of yarn and shoot a string across the suspended ceiling canopy
to assist with pulling wire through the high places instead of doing it on a ladder, one tile at a time....

The heels appear fixed on these shoes. I suppose with a tube of Shoe Goo, you can add whatever you'd like.

If it were me, I would get some canvas and some shoe goo and then cut a little oval patch to cover that area and glue it in.

I have a lot of success with 3M VHB tape. It is amazingly sticky stuff and holds through all temperature ranges.

I'm also going to recommend an odd solution too (in the case that surfaces you are trying to attach to are full of gaps, creases or weird textures). Try some Shoe Goo (amazon link).

You want to really clean the surfaces with soap and water followed by rubbing alcohol. Make sure everything is completely dry before applying this adhesive(this stuff has worked great for me).

You want to follow directions and fully let it cure but it can certain buy you many more years out of your foot wear.

Finding a way to clamp the sole is the most difficult part though, and again, you really want super clean surfaces. One weakness can work its way to another failure.

In the end it might be best to search for a proper "shoe cobbler" but I attest the shoe goo stuff works well, strong bond and flexible.

try some of this. If it's just the heel coming off the sole it might keep it alive longer.

I know people will disagree with me but Irish setters are shit. Very poor build quality and FYI the "waterproof" ones have zero waterproofing at all. My irish setters (the version with molded soles) started falling apart after less than a year of light use. The stitching popped out in half a dozen different places- including the stitching that holds the midsole onto the boot- and the outsole kept detaching from the midsole. One time I came back from a short 1 mile hike and realized my midsole had split wide open- a 2" long gash- exposing my inner boot liner and I have no idea how it happened (safe to say it didn't take much force to make that tear). I shoe-gooed the hell out of those boots a few times before finally giving up on them. And even though the label on the box (which I still have, in case anyone wants proof) says "Waterproof", they have no waterproofing at all! I couldn't walk through grass with morning dew on it without my feet getting soaked! And when I got that tear in the midsole I could see inside the boot and there was no waterproofing at all between the outside leather and cloth insole.

Very disappointing for $200 boots! I replaced them with a $130 pair of Carolinas that have been 10x more durable over the past year.

My father was a long distance jogger. He ran on his toes. The shoes would have pristine heels and toes worn to the foam liner.

Answer? Shoe Goo. He made new soles of the shoes out of shoe Goo. Over and over and over.

You can buy black shoe-goo and make a new heel.

Clean the area where you will apply the shoegoo. Scrape it up a bit with some sandpaper, file, or a knife.

Turn the shoe over, and set it level, sole side up. Put it in a place it can sit for a full 24 hours. Put a piece of masking tape around the edge of the missing/worn piece of sole, so it's sticking up as a retaining wall for the Shoe Goo. Apply and spread shoe-goo volume to fill in the missing part, and it will self-level after a while.

Give it a full day. If you pull the tape off in 5 hours it will dribble off the shoe like candle wax.

After a day or two, you basically have a very durable, fully adhered, and fully usable sole made of shiney new shoe-goo

Have you tried reinforcing/repairing that area using something like Shoe Goo? Alternatively, a pair of FiveFingers with larger toe pockets? For instance, I find that my toes swim in the KSO Trek, whereas as amazing as the EL-X are, my toes are strangled by them.

Have you tried Shoe Goo?

u/mcadamsandwich · 1 pointr/goodyearwelt

Well, first, those are meant to be removable so you can replace them after they wear out.

If you really want to glue it down, get some Shoe Goo.

unless you have some kind of affectation to that shoe or you're vegan or something I would say try eventually upgrading to these:

the suede is going to last longer.

if you have to continue skating those:

-the regular shoe goo at most shops will be really shiny and stick out hard making your shoes look shitty

I was also going to suggest Shoe Goo. It's not just for shoes. The same compound is used as an adhesive in a lot of manufacturing purposes, most notably to me, attaching head tube badges to high-end bicycles. When it dries and cures, it holds tight, but is still pliable enough to take some abuse without cracking or breaking or wearing out.

Shoe Goo, my man.

Also maybe try Payless?

u/Lames_Jahey · 1 pointr/Repsneakers

Could try out shoe goo
EDIT: They also make a clear version. I've used it before and it is similar to silicone caulk. Its a very strong adhesive and is relatively flexible so it should bond well and hold up over time. Its a much better option than superglue or other epoxies.

Shoe Goo, Specifically for repairing the soles of shoes. Also if you aren't aware, most boots can be re-soled for 1/3-1/2 the cost of a new pair.
