I pre ordered good games when you knew it didnt matter.
Like Tiberian Sun, Red Alert 2, Borderlands....
Then came Sim City 5.......and F*** everything forever. Ruined the fun of pre orders.
Honestly though. Worst review in history of a AAA game look at these reviews, 1.5 Stars out of 5 with 4100+ reviews

Take a look at Lucy Bradshaw from EA, the responsable of the SimCity disaster, still in post, she even got promoted, even though SimCity was a shitstorm compared to this, even got the lowest rated product on all Amazon.
This game is $29.99 on amazon. Digital or physical, your choice. Has been as cheap as $20 on Amazon and even $10.80 on windows store, though in limited quantities.

so.. this one time.. I pre-ordered the new sim city that came out..... heh... that fucking debacle. Never pre-ordered after that shit.
EA / Maxis got destroyed for releasing a Shit game. They gave out copy's for review early too and it got good ratings. Those were later redacted and made policy changes for reviews for online only games, on top of getting destroyed in the public ratings on amazon and metacritic. I couldn't play the game for about 2 week after having it installed. Guess what? I threw away $60.. played it for maybe 7 hours? never again.
Devs said: No Traditional single player, online DRM only and you share the map with people who play for a day then abandon your region.
Modders: lol what? less than two weeks made a single player mod
Devs: No Modding of our game allowed or ban

Perhaps a better follow up question is should I be buying him SimCity 2013 or should I get him a different Sim game. This will be the first he plays of this genre, and I think he will love any version of the game as he likes legos, robotics, blocks and is fascinated with construction of any type.
