Either of those headphones will do just fine for it's price range plus you don't have to deal with the price premium for headsets. I own the Zalman mic myself and it's pretty decent for the price. If you really need a headset, my only recommendation would be the Skullcandy Slyr.

I have this. I managed to get it for a good discount.

The sound quality is fantastic, and it comes with its own adapter. The headset itself is detachable and mostly universal (I often use it with both my computer and smartphone), and while plugged into the controller provides mic-monitoring with almost no delay—you can hear yourself as though you had no headset on.

Also, since the adapter is detachable from the headset, if the headset itself breaks (or you want to upgrade at a later date) you can just buy any new universal headset (such as this, for example) and the adapter should work.

The headset is comfortable for extended periods (within reason—I've had some ear pain after a full day of gaming). I only wish it were over-ear, rather than on-ear. For gaming headsets under $100, I think this is a major contender, and highly recommend it.

Almost forgot: if you just need a pair of headphones, you can detach the mic (it plugs into the left ear with a 3.5mm jack), and they work as a really good pair. My only complaint is that the cable is pretty short in this instance, so don't expect to plug it into your computer and walk away. I'm personally used to a 6-foot wire on my re-wired sennheisers, so unless you're spoiled like me, it shouldn't be a problem.
