This! I came to suggest the Smoke Buddy carbon filter.

They are worth their weight in gold. They are about $10 a pop, but they last me about a month and a half each if I keep the mouth area clean.

Dryer sheets make less smell, but a Smoke Buddy catches all smell from your exhale. I have had people come over 10 minutes after I smoked a bowl in my living room and they couldn't tell.

u/dreambldr · 15 pointsr/trees

Popped in hoping to see a whole list of shit and realized this is empty. -_-

So here is the first thing.
Smoke Buddy
Got this from the dude who posted a while back about his neighbor catching him in his dorm window. I have no need for it, but thought its cool af and I should share. Enjoy!

u/budchef · 14 pointsr/trees

Best part - enjoy popcorn while calming down.

Invest in a smokebuddy! It's a personal filter, that removes all smoke that you blow trough it, doesn't work for streamers off a bowl. Use it with small/ one hits and it will save so much hassle.

Edit: or Just don't smoke in your dorm ;)

u/rathat · 14 pointsr/StonerProTips

Buy a smoke buddy, pack bowl with one hit worth of weed, smoke all of that, breath all of it through smoke buddy. Zero smoke in the air. Been smoking like that for years.

You've got to figure out how to really eye how much you can take in one hit without coughing.

u/reokue · 14 pointsr/trees

Amazon has them. Here

If you're too lazy to make something like I am there's this:

Cheap. Lasts a long time. And does wonders for the smell.

u/Arrow_In_Your_Knee · 9 pointsr/trees

These are 1000x better than any sploof you can make, and totally worth the money.

Also Ozium, it's not an air freshener, it's an odor remover. Will fix the smell in moments.

I used the two of them to smoke in my dorm room without getting caught. I definitely don't recommend smoking in the dorm but it does make it a lot easier to get away with.

u/helminthic · 8 pointsr/trees

You think that’s a game changer? I travel for work and smoke filters are my best friend

u/broadcasterred · 8 pointsr/trees

Not if you don't create any smoke, take the full hit and use a smoke buddy

u/ShaggleROC · 8 pointsr/Rochester

Contrarily you could also just kindly ask them to purchase a Smoke Buddy or make their own spoof/sploof (dryer sheets in a cardboard tube) Should be familiar with both.

u/Drama_Derp · 8 pointsr/vaporents

It's a sploof. Activated carbon filter in a plastic case. Unless you blow out with significant force, there is no cloud, no vapor. It condensates within the filter and the carbon removes the smell.

I'll clarify by saying that they knew I was doing but they didn't notice any smell when I had started in their peripheral.

u/SmokeyMcTokington · 7 pointsr/electronic_cigarette

Here OP, fortunately for you, stoners invented something years ago that solves your problem:
It's a Smoke Buddy, been using one to smoke pot indoors for years with pot hating roommates, without them noticing. It can definitely handle vapor.

u/ethnicfail · 7 pointsr/StonerProTips

Get a SmokeBuddy. Well worth the money. I use the tiny bonus one for travel too.

  • Using a MFLB and breathing into one of these eliminates basically all smell. Although it’s a good idea to spray down your room with some air freshener after you change trenches and after you’re done smoking.

  • Wax usually has between 60%-90% THC, which is why it packs such a punch. Normal bud has ~15% THC content, which is much higher than it was in the past. Thank you selective breeding!

  • Since you have very little body fat, not very long. And especially since you’re a light user, it would only take 3-4 days for it to clear out of your system. Still, it’s usually it’s a good rule-of-thumb to wait a month after smoking to take any drug tests, since everyone metabolises THC differently. If you’re really in a pinch pick up one of these.

  • Read online reviews if you can and don’t buy cheap for a long-term piece. A good piece should hit big but gentle. Percolator bongs usually hit very smoothly, but are more expensive.

  • Don’t let them search you. Don’t be an asshole. If he asks to search you, simply deny his request, state that you are exercising your right to refuse a search, but thank him for his concern for your well-being. It sounds bad, but brown-nosing cops will help you a lot more than being confrontational.

  • I would say an infrequent user would be less than once a week. A frequent user would be once every other day or once a day. A heavy user would be someone who smokes every day, multiple times a day.

  • Here you go.

  • Yes. If you want to post a pic of weed to social media, create an alt account and do not allow your face to be seen in any photos. If your face isn’t visible, your identity is protected enough that you won’t be pursued.

  • I use Clear Eyes.

  • People usually suggest cranberry juice since it’s a diuretic (something that makes you urinate more frequently). The logic is that you’re “flushing” your system. These claims are unfounded and have varying results. I would stick to more tried-and-true methods to be safe.

  • I have two places I smoke: With the people I love where I can laugh, make friends, and share stores and meals; and with myself, where I can explore my creativity, imagination, and just enjoy my own thoughts and company. But in all actuality I’ve found that it doesn’t matter where you smoke as long as it’s safe and (relatively) sanitary.

  • If you’re going to be exploring munchies, be careful. I see a lot of stoners accidentally program their high selves to only crave junk food and it’s killer on their bodies. Try to stick to fruit and veg if you’re getting high frequently. When I first started smoking I put so much garbage into my body I’m surprised I’m not 300 lbs.

    Edit: a word

Smokebuddy, a godsend when you need to be discreet.

u/TheFacter · 7 pointsr/saplings

>Best way to store bud (I currently use a pill bottle)?

A pill bottle is generally good enough but if your stuff is a bit dank you're going to want to get something a little better. I know that when I put my stuff in a pill bottle the smell leaks just enough to be noticeable, but again it really depends on the quality of your dank. I keep my stuff in a TightVac container and it works very well. No smell at all.

That being said, you might want to consider keeping your weed outside your dorm if possible. If you have a car, keep it in there. That way, in the unlikely event you are busted and your dorm is searched, they won't find anything except maybe some paraphernalia.

>So what would be the best way to store avb?

AVB doesn't have a very strong smell. A pill bottle will work fine, I use a glass jar because it's pretty to watch it fill up.

>how worried should I be of smell when vaping?

All vapes produce a different amount of smell, but generally it isn't too bad. Some people claim vapor doesn't smell like weed, but that's not really true. If you're inside and not doing anything to help with the smell, it is going to be recognized as weed. But, if you're outside, the only people that will likely smell it is anyone who walks by right after you exhale. Typically nobody will even care if they do smell it. I have been bitched at once while vaping outside, so some people do care, but I say fuck em. It's outside, having the world smell exactly the way you want is an unreasonable expectation, and vapor is not a pungent enough smell to make a big deal over.

If you want to vape inside you're going to need something to help with the smell. I use a smokebuddy and it works pretty good at reducing the amount of smell that you're exhaling. But, your room is still going to end up smelling if you have a medium to long sesh. Don't fear, this smell is easily countered by a candle or maybe two if you have a really long sesh. I'm paranoid so I also have a wax warmer that I leave running most of the time to deal with any residual smell.

With all that combined, you shouldn't run into any problems vaping inside. My RA actually came by our room (for unrelated reasons, to talk to one of my roommates) last night without me knowing. I was taking huge rips in my room the whole time she was in our living room lol. She didn't mention anything about a "funny" smell so I'm guessing my method must be working well enough.

It should be noted though, that you should absolutely never grind your weed in your dorm. In the 2 years I've been vaping inside, the one time I've had an RA come knocking is when I ground up a decent amount indoors. It smells a lot, magnitudes more than vaping, but you don't even really think about it at the time since you're not getting stoned while doing it.

That's about all I can think of, let me know if you have any other questions.

u/PussyLiquorStoreOwnr · 6 pointsr/college

A smokebuddy, for left-handed cigarettes.

u/xxshteviexx · 6 pointsr/legaladvice

You're right from a legal standpoint, but most of society has moved on from the marijuana hysteria, so that's probably why you're not seeing it be a big enforcement priority for others. The police will need either consent or a search warrant to bust in there and look for what is probably a small amount of weed.

I would suggest you tone it down a bit and try to have some empathy in your dealings with your neighbors, who may be using it for medicinal or mental reasons. Rather than get angry about it, try some kindness and explain to them that the smell really bothers you, and ask if there's anything they can do to tone it down. Perhaps suggest they only smoke on their patio, or switch to vaping while they're living in the apartment.

Maybe you should get them a reverse housewarming gift: the Smoke Buddy is a favorite among many marijuana users and does a fantastic job at containing the smell. You could explain this to them as being in their best interest to use, since the smell is obviously getting out of the apartment and it's only a matter of time before the cops catch them. Could be an easy $15 solution.

need a filter for candy cigarettes...

u/akaasa001 · 5 pointsr/Dynavap

When I first got myself off combustion full time, it took me more to get me where I wanted to be. But currently, 1 cap makes me feel good, but I often find myself doing 2 caps max per session.

I have had my dynavap for a good while now, and once I was able to dial it in the way I enjoy, I am still amazed on how much bud I conserve.

I don't clean mine as often as I would like, but after a week, reclaim already steeps out all over and a quick ISO wash (I q-tip the cap) fixes that up. As far as smell, I can vape a cap and smell it, if you want something that is really stealthy get yourself a smoke buddy along with it.

Absolutely, positively you are 100% safe. You have done everything you are supposed to do in order to obtain and enjoy your medicine. Vape pens don't smell at all after about 25 seconds if at all. Vaping your flower is a great option for health and mitigating the smell. If you're still worried, grab a Smoke Buddy (link below) and toke away with the fan on and window open. Also, ima suggest you try a solid Indica ( body high, great for anxiety!!!!) the next time you hit the dispensary. Explain your symptoms and issues to your favorite budtender and let them guide you down the path of righteousness. But for reals, take some deep ass breaths and enjoy your absolutely 100% legal MMJ.

u/ScottSterling · 4 pointsr/Drugs
u/pmains · 4 pointsr/trees

Nice guide! A couple pointers I can add:

For a sploof, what you said works, but if anyone is looking for something to buy online, try a SmokeBuddy

Cover the bowl right after the hit, as you said. Just don't use your hand - it burns, bad. Things I use: quarter, zippo, grinder, cardboard, etc.

u/LeonTrotskyTrout · 4 pointsr/saplings

A blunt is constantly burning, so constantly releasing smoke, and is one of the smelliest ways to smoke, even if you're using a sploof. If you smoke a blunt in your room, it will smell. And on another note, if you're just using dryer sheets in a cardboard tube your sploof will not be very effective. Invest in a smoke buddy if stealthy smoking is a legitimate concern for you. It has a carbon filter that will eliminate any trace of smell. Definitely saved my ass a few times. Ozium is another good thing to have on hand. That shit is the most hardcore air freshener on the planet. You can find it in most gas stations, smoke shops, auto parts stores, or walmart.

u/MeltsLikeButter · 4 pointsr/trees

Smoke buddy. I've used one in many hotels. Can never tell any one had been smoking.

u/usernamehardlyknower · 4 pointsr/saplings
  1. Portable vape.

  2. Sploof.

Most vapes don't smell at all with use and if you exhale into a sploof there is nothing. Even without the sploof the vapor will smell less and what smell is there smells different from normal weed smoke.

If you need to smoke it the only way I know to be totally scent free in a home is to go in the bathroom, flip on the vent, and just hit it right near the vent.
u/CaptainTurkeyBreast · 4 pointsr/eldertrees

Vaping is great for inside the house and for less impact on your lungs. There hasn't been much studies of the effect of second hand marijuana smoke. So

There are devices such as the smoke buddy which do an excellent job eliminating smell and smoke. I live in a dorm at university and heavily smoke in my bathroom with one of these and have never had a problem. Even with stingy Resident Advisers. Combined with Ozium it is fool proof.

When it comes to choosing a pipe is form and funciton. Things to keep in mind when buying pipe are the size of the bowl (where you put your herb), the size of the hole in the bowl, placement of carb cap, and make sure your eyebrows wont get burned when lighting. When it comes to hand pipes i prefer dry pipes (not bubblers) The minuscule amount of water in them doesn't do anything for me and they get really smelly and dirty. I think a small little spoon pipe will do you great! Probably some typos in there but i am really stoned and don't care happy blazing!!

u/killer_in_a_cat_suit · 3 pointsr/trees

Also if you have some time before your trip you could order a smoke buddy, and there will be hardly any smell left to deal with. ( ) its essentially the same thing as a sploof just professionally made and reusable.

Sorry for the long ass link, im currently to high for this hyper linking on mobile nonsense haha

u/NoddingWalrus · 3 pointsr/vaporents

Whatever vape you decide to get, you're better off buying it online. It's cheaper and you have more selection than your local shop.

As everyone on here (and out of here too, I bet), I can't recommend enough.

I'm no expert so definitely wait for other's inputs; just bear in mind that if you're going for the relaxed/sleep aid factor, you'll need a vape capable of doing high temperatures.
What I can tell you is vape smell is nothing compared to proper smoke. I very much doubt that the detector will go off with the vapor, especially if you're not exhaling right towards it. If that was the case, then the alarm would start when you're making pasta and the water is boiling in your pot, for example: the principle is the same.

I never had to worry about it 'cause I'm in a kinda legal country, but imho if you leave a window open no one would be any the wiser. I remember reading good things
about the smoke buddy, so that might be something worth looking into.

Enjoy your new hobby and please put down the bottle, is not doing you any favour!

Have a great day :)

u/ladderlegs · 3 pointsr/trees

This thing is amazing. Literally eats your hit when you exhale into it. No smoke at all, no smell. All you have to worry about is the smoke left trailing off the burning embers of the bud, which can be easily controlled.

u/guptava · 3 pointsr/trees

Just from the conversation alone I'm going to take a guess and assume your neighbor is haole. I wouldn't worry too much, they're usually ignorant towards the local culture here and they don't understand just how much people here don't care about petty issues like this. Although, do try to be a little more discreet in case I'm wrong! I'd recommend a [smoke buddy] ( to mask the smell if that's something you're interested in.

u/MacGyverJr · 3 pointsr/saplings

You can get a Smoke Buddy or make your own with paper towel roll and dryer sheets

u/0unique_username0 · 3 pointsr/StonerPhilosophy

The very best setup to prevent smell I've found is using a dry herb vape pen & a smoke buddy like this one
I live in a downstairs apartment and am extremely paranoid about the neighbors smelling & complaining. I've also heard of people making their own air filters out of empty soda bottles & activated charcoal (fish tank charcoal) but I haven't tried it myself. Smoke buddy lasts me about a month of daily use & is only 12$. The vape pen keeps any residual smell from drifting around. Randy's makes one that heats up enough to combust or you can just vape it. Even if you stick with a bowl, I still highly recommend the smoke buddy.

Edit: Extra thoughts - depending on the location of the window compared to where your parents would be, I would blown it out the window. The smell disperses fast in fresh air. But if you do the vape pen/smoke buddy set up, you won't even need to open the window.

smoke buddy

several of my friends have them and they work.

u/zombiemoan · 3 pointsr/vaporents

I can guarantee if you use a vape out of sight they will never know. I bring one to work since I'm alone on weekends. My house smells only skunky after Ive ground up fresh bud.

If you are really worried buy a smoke buddy:
Which is essentially a tube with activated charcoal at the end of it.

Just for the record. I lived in apartment for 3 years that was carpeted. I smoked joints and bongs and never had problems or extra fees when I left. I bought a house and smoke all the time. People come over and have no idea. Marijuana doesn't linger, just the "combustion smoke." I'm not trying to convince you to smoke inside, but if the far end of the spectrum doesn't have any lingering smells, I cant imagine vaporizing hydrocarbons below 400 degrees would create a worse effect.

Also wanted to throw in that I had one bad ass deep fabric sofa in my apartment. When i left i sold it to a coworker, he had no complaints.

u/The_R4ke · 3 pointsr/saplings

It's a professional sploof. Here's a link

u/CoalontheFire · 3 pointsr/trees

Vaping will significantly reduce the smell. Especially with a small personal vape but what may answer your prayers perfectly is this. They work really well. I know I lot of people that use the them for dorms.

u/hufflepoet · 3 pointsr/saplings

Apparently you can buy fancy sploofs.

u/SmolWags · 3 pointsr/college

Ask them to smoke in their room with the door shut and a towel under the door and not in the common areas. I'd also ask them if they could buy one of these. The carbon filter traps all the smoke so there's no smell. Portable air filters work too but are a bit more expensive.

u/Ublind · 3 pointsr/trees

I used to do this exact thing before I moved out. You should consider buying a Smokebuddy. I bought one recently and it's amazing.

With a vaporizer and an open window you can almost literally blow it in someone's face and they won't smell anything.

u/rendeld · 2 pointsr/trees

To significantly cut the smell, unless you are smoking a joint or blunt

To keep the area Fresh

and make sure to use these filters for the air purifier

The purifier takes 3 filters which is what is included in that filter pack i sent. The smoke ones are really good and have a carbon filter backing to them and last about 3 months. The ones that come with it are great for alergens but you might as well toss them if you are trying to get rid of smoke only.

Edit: There is also this Which goes with this. Now this might be overkill, but it will get rid of any smell you have period, cats, smoke, whatever.

I've got a smoke alarm in my kitchen for obvious reasons, and it's never gone off. I use one of these and just always smoke with the oven vent on, I let it run after smoking as well to clear everything out. I've had someone about 10 feet away from my kitchen say they couldn't really smell the weed while I was smoking. Hopefully that works just as well for you.

invest in a Smoke Buddy. aka a professional sploof. Used it in my dorm room - it eliminates all of the smell and the actual smoke

u/Ductaperape · 2 pointsr/vaporents

Check out the Smoke Buddy or the Sploofy. They eliminates smell by using a carbon filter, a mini version of what they use on grow ops to eliminate smell. Lasts around 3-500 uses. The Spoofy has a replaceable filter inside. I prefer the SB because they have a Jr version which is great for portability...I'm a server and I use it to vape my hopper in the bathroom stall with zero smell. But if that's not a concern then the spoofy is great because it has replaceable filters, where the SB you have to buy a whole new unit. They all eliminate the smell very well to nothing.

well my Arizer extreme Q is pretty stinky.

I don't know about other log Vapes, but like I said they kind of exceed that price

personally I like the xmax pro V2 (it's not in the video, but it's exactly like a boundless CF with an external battery), and get a smoke buddy to exhale through. you could do that while you're living there, and then when you move out get a bong; get the WPA and use it with bong it's way better

you want a smell proof case (edit as a note the case I have is just a pencil case not smell proof; it's the perfect size if I want to go somewhere cuz it'll hold the vape and two extra batteries and a doob tube. so normally I'll pack the vape, and that's enough for like four bowls) (I like the stuff here, extra batteries if you don't have them, and an external charger eventually.

3/4" pipe screens are must have for this vape as well. makes it so the weed doesn't drop out and there's less mess

edit also note, this is a session vape. so it may take much longer compared to an on-demand vape it really depends on what your use would be. I personally like getting high over like 45 minutes instead of like 10 minutes

u/TheHappyLittleTrees · 2 pointsr/trees

Yikes, shit situation. One cheap thing that could help is a good sploof, these things work great in my experience.

u/sailorj0ey · 2 pointsr/trees

I feels ya man same here, my game plan is usually just a one hitter and a smoking buddy

u/dadankness · 2 pointsr/arizer

Well I wouldn't be too worried. If you were everyday, allday, 30 minutes is still a kind of long time for arizer. They have timers on them I think?

Is there a reason you can't smoke inside aside from smell? DO you have any exhausts fans available to you two?(they blow air from inside straight to the outside, usually found in bathrooms) Vaping especially with something like an arizer(imo) the smell can be as strong as weed, but never lasts as long.

Now onto the next point. Carbon filters can be your best friend. They sell some pre made ones for pot smokers, but usually at a place like walmart in the states(anywhere that sells pet fish) has a carbon section and you can get a yuuuuuuuuuuge amount for cheap and throw it into a toiletpaper roll/paper towel roll and blow through and it will NOT smell.

The pot from the pipe itself will and any extra smoke you leave in the glass steams might leak out. But the carbon filter blow through will change your life.

This an example of one in the states that gets used up after maybe 2 weeks of constant smoking which is why I mentioned just buying the materials and making a cheap one(just as effective) yourself. The arizer are awesome though and even if you had to go outside for 20ish minutes(i think the arizer shuts off automatically at 12) you will be able to finish your sets in that time.

Here is a non-judgemental response from much experienced 20 something

I've traveled around on the train/bus/walking with 1/2 O's- O's on multiple occasions before it was decriminalized. As terrible as it sounds, as long as you're not black or hispanic, you won't have that much of an issue... You'd be smart to get one of those airtight plastic containers from a head shop. But, I've reeked of weed before in public. It's not a big deal. They do have drug sniffing dogs at train platforms sometimes. I've had weed in my backpack. I was fine.

I have never had a run in with the cops from smoking, but if I did, it would be around a $250 ticket.

I'm dumb, but I have smoked joints walking down the street plenty of times. I've even smoked a bowl on a walk with my friend. Nothing has ever happened. I live in a pretty nice part of town though.

You're not going to get a card. Just deal with it. There is good weed around here. We have the strictest laws pertaining to medical marijuana in the country.

Safe areas to smoke is a weird question. A lot of craigslist ad's will have "420 friendly" in them. It's not that trickey. I've smoked in every apartment i've ever had. A ton of people smoke. It's not a thing. I even smoke cigarettes in my apartment now sometimes. No one's complained.

If you're really concerned, get a vaporizer or a smoke buddy. They both work great. I've used both. No smell.

It's a major metropolitan area, weed isn't that high on the concerns. Weed is also really popular in general...

The key to all of this: Discretion. As long as you're not being visual and skecthy about it, you'll be fine.

u/UTripUmpire · 2 pointsr/legaladvice

You can also pitch a smoke buddy to them. It might get the smell and smoke to be less of an issue for you.

u/lightaqua · 2 pointsr/newjersey

Happy to help, these carbon filters are the ones I'm referencing. I think they could fit in a water bottle. The one you can buy is called a smoke buddy. The desktop filter that I have is this one Pricey but worth it, removes smoke very fast. Plus it feels like a nice fan for the room when it's on.

u/thegamingfaux · 2 pointsr/trees

I would buy a dry herb vape and This

u/Matchstix · 2 pointsr/saplings

A sploof is definitely the way to go, and if you wanna throw down some money for a nice one, I've heard these are great.

u/willpuff4ganj · 2 pointsr/trees

Small mason jar will keep it air tight, pill bottle might still smell. As for a piece get a dug out or just a metal/glass one hitter... They're about 5$ and look like a cigarette.

Edit: for ultimate stealth get one of these. And for ultra stealth upgrade to vaporization.

Edit, edit: if you need a free DIY setup: when I was In h.s. I would do a socket on a bic pen, melt a hole in a Gatorade bottle near the middle, poke the pen/socket "downstem" through then burn a hole for your thumb as a carb. Then just throw away the bottle when done.

u/Blazikents · 2 pointsr/trees
u/Chrispy_Magic · 2 pointsr/trees

The smell will most likely stay in the room and you will have a VERY hard time getting the smell out. If the smell is really noticeable it will probably leak into the next room. I suggest a and just blow excess out a window or somesuch. Good luck man.

u/nairbmik · 2 pointsr/ploompax

Invest 15 bucks in a smoke buddy ( and run a fan blowing out the window and the smell will be gone in a few minutes.

u/kindlythinking · 2 pointsr/Drugs

Hey. You will be fine. There are many people who smoke in Georgia. Just don't be obnoxious with how you consume your weed, and you'll be good. Your roommates are cool with it, so they won't give you trouble for it. Here are some tips that you are free to utilize:

  2. Light a candle (to set the mood), and it'll help with the smell.

  4. During your session, you can always microwave some popcorn and it will help mask some smell.

  5. After your session, get a damp & cool towel, and swing it around like a helicopter above your head (in the room), and it will help circulate the air.

  6. After your session is over and some time has passed, you can open up a window and let the breeze carry away any remaining smell.

  7. Relax, and enjoy your sessions. Usually, no one is actively sniffing around for marijuana, and trying to get people in trouble.

  8. You're going to be safer smoking in your home, than in your car or outside. Period.

Part of the fun of living in apartments.

I would recommend air fresheners/scented candles and a fan. You could call the cops, which would be a dick move kind of, but the person is obviously not considerate of others anyway.

Or you could be maybe too nice and drop off an inexpensive "gift" for them, with a note saying something like "Your neighbors appreciate your courtesy"

Or, again, you could give them a taste of their own medicine and mail them a box of shit: It's "gluten-free", so it's not like you're hitler or anything.

u/Bob_Sch · 1 pointr/canadients

Some cheap pipe like this. Load it lightly with grinded bud. When you stop inhaling put your thumb on the cap hole so no smoke escapes, and exhale through a Smoke Buddy

If that's not enough so these idiots feel respected I'm out of idea.

Edit: feel free to check out YouTube for the Smoke Buddy. I worked a whole year while staying in what most people would consider a prison camp. Guys were getting caught for smoking in their room or outside by security and thrown out of the site for a month, but not this redditor.

u/-Wargrave- · 1 pointr/trees

They do okay but mainly just mask the smell. Something with a carbon filter like a smoke buddy gets rid of the odor.
you can make one yourself for cheap

u/AhNeem · 1 pointr/trees

I can't vouch for if that thing would work but the principle seems the same as smoking in the bathroom with hot water on so the steam/vapor gets rid of the smell. What I do to minimize smell is I use a bong a smokebuddy and an activated carbon bowl adapter. The carbon adapter will purify and take the smell out of the smoke that goes through it because that's what activated carbon or whatever it is does and I always snap my bowls this way the bowl doesn't stay burning and giving off the weed smell. The smoke buddy is the same concept as the adapter it has activated carbon in it and you blow your hit through it to give it a 2nd desmelling. I personally don't use any incense or candles or anything but for your living situation I'd purchase this incense I've read great stuff about it. Good luck and stay safe.

u/MakingMarconi · 1 pointr/electronic_cigarette

Wouldn't that make a bubbling sound? Seems like that'd get annoying. My search results ended up turning up this thing shortly after posting. I ordered one to try out. Hopefully it works. The reviews seem pretty positive.

u/liquidblue4 · 1 pointr/trees

What about one of those filter cans that you can blow through? I've never used one, but they might work.

Edit: This

u/staringatmyfeet · 1 pointr/trees

Check out the Smokebuddy. I got one and it has saved me a lot of grief. This along with the g-pen for herb gets me fucked up discreetly and leaves no smell for the landlord to find on those surprise visits to fix pipes or whatever.

u/chromer123 · 1 pointr/trees
You can buy those at your local head shop or online!

Having personally tried dryer sheets, I'll tell you that they will work, in a pinch. Or, invest in febreeze.

u/rubermnkey · 1 pointr/Vaping101

use a sploof. you can make one easy enough or you can buy a fancy one. a little fan is also good at helping it dissipate, or vape in the bathroom. don't bother with changing your tank or trying to ghost a hit.

u/ivannabannana · 1 pointr/trees

This will do the trick, was skeptical at first but it works wonders:

u/clhumain · 1 pointr/trees

I suggest you invest in a Smoke Buddy and only pack bowls big enough that you can clear in one drag. That way there's no smoke that escapes and the smoke buddy will take care of the rest. I would also suggest some Febreeze, it works wonders if ever the smoke buddy and small bowls technique fails you.

u/Thevapeingseabass · 1 pointr/weed
u/scoopinresponse · 1 pointr/trees

One of these, but I have since learned that it's basically just activated charcoal inside it. I'm thinking I'll just go get some of that from the pet store and make my own. I used to make them with dryer-sheets stuffed in them but that's less fun if you accidently inhale again before taking your mouth off it. All the scented stuff inside tastes pretty terrible.

also, the smoke buddy is a pretty awesome little invention. If you choose to go this route I would suggest buying a one hitter or only packing one hit bowls from now on so that you don't have any cherries from your bowl still goin.

I've never used one, but I've heard extremely good things about the Smoke Buddy. It's basically a hand-held carbon filter that scrubs all the smoke out of your breath when you exhale through it, leaving no smell at all. They're pretty cheap so I'd suggest giving one a shot. You can also pick them up in a lot of head shops if having a thing like that delivered to your house would be a problem.

u/SovietStomper · 1 pointr/vaporents

I believe you're looking for this. All vapes will leave an odor, but if you exhale through this and use a candle, you'll be right as rain.

u/CheesyNipples69 · 1 pointr/StonerProTips

I prefer not to smoke outside especially at an apartment complex. If smell is the only issue consider buying a Smoke Buddy to smoke in your apartment. It eliminates all smell and no smoke comes out the other end! It surprised me how well it worked the first time I used one.

Smoke Buddy 0159-BLU Personal Air Filter, Blue

Or for much cheaper you can make yourself a sploof which is just an empty roll of toilet paper / paper towels with some dryer sheets stuffed inside. It doesn’t completely get rid of the smoke so it can stain the inside walls of your new apartment like regular weed use. From my experience it works just as well as the smoke buddy just looks a little janky when compared.

🌳🌳🌳 Best of luck!! 🌳🌳🌳

You can use the Smoke Buddy on amazon for vapor. I used to when I had to stay at my dad's and didn't want to get out of bed.

I haven't had to learn to adjust to smoking in a dorm yet (Although that's definitely gonna have to change in the next 6~ months)

I always figured you could keep the door closed, the window open, and Using a Smoke Buddy would be more than enough to get away with vaping in an individual room

u/blueajna · 1 pointr/Marijuana

Buy a smoke buddy. I thought this was a carbon filter you put over your a/c or something, not covering up your fire alarm. I had the same problem before, I just got up there and took out the batteries + unplugged everything

They're usually $8 - $12, last for a while.

u/notaburner0 · 1 pointr/barstoolsports
u/dushamp · 1 pointr/trees

same lol I was an RA there so i gotta say, to avoid getting caught you wanna use a smoke buddy and if you got the money grab a weed vaporizer and the smoke buddy and no one will ever know

u/Mixster76 · 1 pointr/craftymighty

I have similar condition but due to travel so tons of hotels. I use a smokers buddy (even with Mighty) and then an aerosol air freshener. So far no issues. Here’s the one I use: or just search “smoke buddy”. Good luck!

u/lpad92 · 1 pointr/homeowners

Be neighborly and buy him one of these calling the cops seems a little overkill. Is he a renter or a fellow home owner? If he’s renting I think you might have a leg to stand on but if he owns just the same as you I think you just kinda have to deal with it unless you want your time living next to each other to be incredibly uncomfortable

u/Marcus_Allen · 1 pointr/trees

Picked up one of these a couple weeks ago. Strong recommendation. Even with people on either side of my backyard they could barely smell a thing. It filters the smoke perfectly

u/CreepyRob_Lowe · 1 pointr/trees

i think what he is refering to is something like this, i dont think he was talking about a sploof.

if you want a good sploof buy this
it works very well and i love it for my college apartment

u/objeteh · 1 pointr/weed

How are you smoking? Make sure the apparatus or the end of the joint is sealed airtight. Residue is extremely odorous.

u/etherpromo · 1 pointr/weedstocks

u/-Rick_Sanchez_ · 1 pointr/instant_regret

You know they make a filter for this?

u/Henital_Gerpies · 1 pointr/StonerEngineering

I take singular, small hits and blow it all out with this contraption, as long as one is careful the only smell will be on your piece and your breath. Candles, airing the room out via a window, and not overdoing it smoking bowl after bowl will help. That thing works with concentrates too, absolutely no smell from that combo imo but usually the smelly person cant smell their own stink until its too late.

u/bicycle · 1 pointr/saplings

also /u/kurthhelp might want to invest in one of these, I can smoke anywhere I want to with extremely minimal smell if i exhale through a smoke buddy

u/Wac-Arnolds · 1 pointr/vaporents

If you're going for stealth just know that vaping isn't odorless. I use a Smoke Buddy and a candle wax warmer and have yet to be detected

u/tnorts · 1 pointr/trees

Get a smokebuddy, one of those fans that is extendable so it can seal into a window, and a second fan to put near the door to help pull in air from outside. Ripped bong in my room 7 days of the week and never got caught. Our RA was known to be pretty strict too.

u/tastelessbagel · 1 pointr/trees

u/COMediSun · 1 pointr/Dabs

u/karanok · 1 pointr/ucla

If your room mate is cool with you smoking in the room, just buy a smoke buddy from amazon. I used it to smoke nearly everyday for a year in the dorms and was never caught. If you want to be extra safe, spray ozium afterwards.

u/pm_me_thick_girlz · 1 pointr/trees

I forgot about incense! I will try that. I don't want to stink up their living room too incense-y either, but maybe I could burn it while I smoke and then put it out. That way if they have some smoke pollution, at least it smells good lol.

I use this and I do put a dryer sheet in it too, mostly just to help keep me from accidentally spitting into the carbon filter though, because you really can't smell anything coming out of the end of the smokebuddy. My problem was mostly like not always getting the swing lid closed over the bowl in time, in your protopipe. Except mine was a flat, thick, piece of glass about 1.5"x1.5". It tamps out the bowl nicely, but I'm like, juggling:

a lighter

a pipe

trying to tamp out the bowl

and not let any smoke out before I can grab the smokebuddy

Lol I just fail at all that sometimes. So many objects! Incense will totally help though, I'm pretty sure.

u/eatbootylikbreakfast · 1 pointr/trees

Never used it myself, but I've seen this one suggested more times than I can count on this sub:

I believe it contains activated carbon to neutralize the odors. Good luck friENT!

u/entKOSHA · 1 pointr/explainlikeimfive

I have a collection of about a dozen vaporizers and I'd highly recommend either the Arizer Solo or Arizer Air for their efficiency and relative lack of smell. Or, given that you live in a 'legal' state a quartz domeless nail, small bong, and a creme brulee torch along with some quality BHO is never a bad option (and quite discreet since you're only taking one big hit vs. several smaller ones)

But regardless of if you're vaporizing, smoking, or dabbing it a carbon filter will remove all trace of smoke/smell if you use it on every exhale...came in very handy in Mercer Island when I had a Bellevue detective as my landlord (and his son living above me):

u/pharmaconaut · 1 pointr/trees

If you're lazy, the smoke buddy does the same thing for 15 dollars at the expense of frugality and DIY. The larger one lets no smoke out if I form a good seal with my mouth, and works for weeks with heavy usage.

u/banjomoob · 1 pointr/weed

Yeah go for a sploof, or a smoke buddy (that's what I use in my dorm).

Smoke Buddy Personal Air Filter

u/Cougar333 · 1 pointr/PennStateUniversity

If you're worried, use a snuggle tube.

There are charcoal filters for cheap as well, you can get from amazon.

Moist towel under the door is extra safety, but those dab pens have very little smell, if it's just you and a friend, so just use one of the methods above and keep your door shut when you puff. If you want to be extra careful, get an inexpensive fireproof safe with a lock to store it out of sight when it's not used. $10-20 should be adequate to make it clear a warrant is needed to search it unless there's a crime in progress, which there won't be if you use either of the methods above. Just write "may contain HIPAA documents" on it with a sharpie, and even police can't mess with it, let alone an RA.

(EDIT) I was corrected, HIPAA is not protected in a dorm typically. But a small safe placed in an unseen location may still be a deterrent for a forced seizure.

I hear these work pretty well:

If it makes you feel any better, my wife caught me smoking weed because i went to go clean my pipe in the kitchen sink and stunk the whole kitchen up horribly. Oh and I was high when i did it.

Not my proudest moment. But funny as hell now.

Thankfully, she didn't rat me out. She was pissed though!! lol

u/coreyja · 1 pointr/trees

On the sploofs, I honestly wouldn't bother making homemade sploofs. I buy Smoke Buddies []. They are pretty cheap and they have a carbon filter which will do a much better job of blocking the smell than dryer sheets that I used before.

its been awhile since ive been in a dorm. i understand your whole "why risk it" attitude. make him get one of these

u/Rocketship2012 · 1 pointr/Dynavap

Yeah. I always have a backup plan in case I mess up.

I have a smokebuddy next to me all the time and I would advise against using any sprays/candles as it's a dead giveaway, unless you regularly use them.

Now, if you do combust, you really only have the option of hitting it as fast and hard as possible, you need it to cool down ASAP and just chucking it into the tube is the worst idea ever (trust me).

I try to only hit my VC with water filtration cause the last two times I accidently combusted, I just hit it as usual and it was tolerable, but since all the smoke went directly from the cap to my lungs, and ghosting the hit lessens the odor, plus the smokebuddy filtering out the smoke and if you contain that in a small place where any smoke can't escape, like a basement closet, then you don't have to worry about damage control.

Always do a thorough cleaning after you combust. Getting in that habit will make it a lot easier to respect the click.

u/Apologamer · -1 pointsr/UMD

Get him one of these:

They filter out both smoke and oder, you just need to clean it through with some alcohol (be sure to dry after!) once in a while.

Or you could tell him to go outside.
